After being productive all day, we decided to head to the casino. We scored a free buffet, a free room and we are going home with a couple extra 100s tomorrow. Featured here... A king size bed. Joe is very excited about all the extra room to spread out. I, on the other hand, would be fine with a twin.

We had a swarm of law mowers today. First profession mowing experience and it was fantastic. Five guys, front and back yard, weed whacking and clean up. Ten minutes. I sent them off with our last homemade cookie and no bake cakes.

Today was text-worthy. Joe is a saint. Exhibit A- a group of Girl Scout aged girls are holding a bake sale for relay for life right as you walk out of Lowes. Joe instantly falls for the eager, young business girls pitch and donates a buck... Doesn't even take a cookie. Exhibit B- Joe notices someone's windows are down in the Lowes parking lot- it had just dumped rain on us. The kind of rain that beats down on the roof of Lowes that makes you feel like you could possibly be in a tin box... So Joe hops in the guys truck- door unlocked- and rolls up his windows for him. Came back, second guesses his decision as there was a dog in the car and goes back to crack the window just a tiny bit. Exhibit C- and this is a big one- Joe is waking to the car with groceries and sees a woman passed out in her passenger seat, legs hanging out the door and is unresponsive. Everyone else has passed right by this woman. He Calls me over and I thought, in my very uneducated nursing skills, she was having a stroke. We brought her back to a state of response, sat with her feeding her her drink and tried to make her comfortable until her family arrives. It's possible we actually saved a life today. It was pretty heavy. All because Joe had enough heart to stop. Saint Joseph

My bosses wife, Sherry, was kind enough to share some garden goodies. Forget-me-nots and chickadees. 😍

Our electrician, Johney, came over and put in four new lights, a new switch and re-routed two existing switches for the bedroom we're making downstairs. But, all I can really focus on is that Joe moved this extra light we now have over my cutting table. I can seeeeee! It's awesome.

Second batch of homemade cookies were much more successful. I ended up sharing some with my coworkers too and that made me happy.

I'm such a high maintenance fishing buddy. I can't put the minnow on for myself, I get caught on lots of branches and wires and I can't take them off the hook... But man I sure can catch 'em so... #crappie

Gotta get back down to my normal size. Went a little overboard this winter. Feeling 😢 but 💪!

Uhm. 1st batch of cookie from scratch didn't turn out as planned. Soft and Chewy chocolate chip was the plan but we figured out wax paper is not an equal substitute to parchment paper. The oven was smoking and we had to quickly scrap the already some what baked cookies off the wax paper and back into the bowl. The chocolate chips had melted and we ended up with geometric shaped marble cookies. Hey, could be the next big thing because they were delicious after all! 😂
