BEING THE PITT'S ADORED RAVEN came with a feeling you had never experienced before. it seemed that, for once, you weren't ostracized for being different.

you were appreciated.

robby enjoyed your calm. it seemed that whenever you walked into the ER, the chaos dulled, a soothing balm on his own exposed nerves. in small moments in the breakrooms, as you sipped your coffee from a mug he happened to get for you for the staff secret santa last year (a calm blue color, which donned the quote “i cannot live without my life! i cannot live without my soul!”), he didn’t feel like the chief attending. he simply felt like michael.

abbot was always trying to get you to crack a smile. you would bounce back and forth, covering night and day shifts as were needed—showing how you cared for your coworkers in your own silent way. you struggled, at first, to blend into the chaos that was the nightcrawlers. jack saw your hesitance, the way you decided you didn’t belong before giving yourself a chance. but jack broke you down, a corny joke there, an encouraging word here. before he knew it, seeing your smile was the best part of his night.

shen, flirty as ever, changed when you came around on nightshift. your piercings and tattoos almost had him intimidated, but soon he saw the softie lying underneath your seemingly tough exterior. how every time he would joke about taking you for himself as you supplied him with coffee, you would flush and roll your eyes. how you remembered all of his orders, not just to dunkin’, but the various small businesses around town. soon, his flirting was reserved only for you.

langdon was enamored by you at first, really. you were unlike anyone in his circle, or the ER. he always watched you from afar, but he thought you never saw him. he hated the way that you lit up around the new staff; laughing with dennis, texting with trinity. he was so scared she was telling you all the bad stuff about him, about what he did. but when he came back from rehab, he was shocked to find a gift basket from you, full of his favorites. with it, a note he would cherish forever; “set fire to the broken pieces, start anew. - raven”

park thought you were the only competent person down in the pitt as soon as he found out your love for horror. apparently, not many people who worked in the ER wanted to watch a good slasher flick, but you loved to and point out inaccuracies as you went. brendon loved that about you, that underneath your calm exterior, there was a sense of competition. every time he came down on a consult, he would ask you for recommendations, and then tell you what he thought. maybe one day, he’ll have the emotional fluidity to ask you on a movie date.
