“lmao what if i just entered the lottery of a show that i literally cannot attend to in any way shape or form”

I’m sure there were some idiots who signed up for tickets they wouldn’t be able to collect.  But if there’s one thing this show seems to generate is endless amounts of positive energy and thinking the best of people, so let’s take a minute here before accusing the countless thousands. 

The Hamilton Twitter states that there were 50K+ unique entries to the system.

NYC has a population of just over 8.4 million. That’s just about 0.6% of the residential population. Even if you accounted for people completely unavaliable--let’s say, only 1 out of 4 would have enough scheduling flexibility to attend Hamilton given notice at 4pm--it is still only 2%. It is a tiny proportion of people out of those living in the area. And it was online--people who may be working at 4pm and unable to attend a live Ham4Ham would make the effort.

But you’ve also got people in the surrounding area---that’s 20 million right there! I’m sure that 50,000 out of 20,000,000 (or may decide to try to go in for a lottery on a show they would genuinely make time for in their evening on a Tuesday night.
