It's been a heck of a ride the past few months following my ankle injury (3rd time is the last time). Having to start over is one of the worst experiences ever in fitness. Next week begins my 5th month of working out with a trainer and only the 2nd month being able to do lower body also. We made a bucket list of things to do on dates so this was our first time renting bikes downtown on the sea wall. The wind was brutal on the way back though! Late post, but life gets crazy and it's hard to spend time with people you miss. My seesters from another meester are leaving back to Waco soon so I had to see them before they left. I've known these girls since I was 5 so make that 19 years of crazy fun! We always try to at least make it to the beach together once every summer. Also go to Snoopy's on the Island for dinner to see a great sunset. #TexasSunsets #Beach #Sisters
On July 23rd, 2015 I met this crazy sweet man and he would not stop asking me to go to lunch or to do things with him. A couple of weeks before we started dating, we went to Six Flags so we thought it was time to go again. ๐ข๐ข (at Six Flags Fiesta Texas)
So you may or may not have heard that I have been dealing with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome for quite a few years now. If you've never heard of it and you're a woman, I suggest you google it. Ironically, I moved in with a roommate last year who also has it. We recently have been Pinteresting different healthy snacks and just healthier food in general. A few weeks ago, we made energy balls. They included: ground flax seed, raw honey, rolled oats (NOT instant), peanut butter, and small chocolate chips. They were great but I don't ever cook with salt so the peanut butter was a lot for me. I went grocery shopping last night and found some different ingredients to play around with this time. They included: unsweetened coconut flakes, small dark chocolate chips, almond slivers, and raw honey with low sodium peanut butter this time. AMAZING!!! I added extra coconut flakes to hold it all together better. It was so delicious! I also sliced some of my favorite apples in small slices after taking out the middle. I put my low sodium peanut butter, coconut flakes, almond slivers, and dark chocolate chips; a great alternative! Next, I made some oatmeal fruit jars using plain Greek yogurt, my fruit choices (blueberries and strawberries), and old fashioned oatmeal. Just leave it overnight in your fridge ad voila! You can also add a dash of milk or almond milk to help the oats soften more easily. Anywhoo, our fridge is always filled with healthy options now. It isn't impossible, whether you struggle with thyroid, PCOS, or any kind of health issue. You CAN do it!! ๐๐ฏ๐๐// #pcos #healthyfood #healthyeating #thryoid #FitLife #polycisticovariansyndrome
