Adventures in Veterinary School

I have to say, this week felt longer than mos--I have no idea why. I was a busy bee all week. I went to meetings, I started organizing my project for my practicum class, started organizing a spring clinic for school, and attempted to study in between my meetings. Life feels so much rougher than it did in first semester.

But I'm surviving and somehow managing to be somewhat social, if only with none other than my fellow "I" vet student classmates.

If you don't know what an "I" is, I'll tell you. It's based on the MBTI score for an introvert. I am probably one of the highest scores in the introvert category. I'm sure that if it were possible, I would break the scale. Anyway, we started doing Friday night movie nights, and so far they've been an awesome way to just chill out after a long week of classes and labs. We usually watch two movies, eat pizza, and to try and be healthy, a veggie platter. Despite all then fun I've had tonight, I can honestly say that I'm "people" burned out. I feel like all that I want to do this weekend is be alone on my apartment for the next two days and never leave--I jokingly tell people that I need my hermit time when I feel like this, and my fellow "I"s seem to understand. However, I know it's not completely practical, as I still have grocery shopping to do and I will probably go study on campus for a little while on both Saturday and Sunday.

Anyway, it feels like I've been back in school longer than I really have. I'm usually the one supporting everyone else taking on leadership roles and organizing things, but right now I've taken on some pretty involved projects. Needless to say I'm starting to feel overwhelmed, but if this is something I can do to help my program and benefit my colleagues then I will definitely do it.

Like I said above, I'm working on a practicum project and organizing to set up a clinic for my program, as well as organizing somethings for a business club that I am involved in. For my project, I am trying to re-write a curriculum and get an assisted therapy program set up. It's going to take a lot of work on my part, but I think I can get it done by the end of my time here at least (which is 2 years--I'm in a 2+2 program).
