Hiatus || Only You

       Her form stood in the queue, sunglasses sitting high on her nose as she fiddled with her long hair. She didn’t want to leave Korea but the pull for answers was too much. Boarding the plane, she sat by herself, staring out at the humans readying for the plane’s departure. 

     “I’m sure it’s him. I have to go..” She packed at once and left after explaining herself to Rainer. Only a handful a photos in an envelope, not were of him but of his coven, vampires that she hadn’t seen in fifty years, ones that disappeared along with him. Though that was enough for her, she couldn’t let them slip away again. 

     Hearing the crunch of tire over the gravel, she was set into action. A series of tasks that were as simple as breathing, tasks that should be expected to one in such a position as herself. 

Two minutes.

      A novel left abandoned in the drawing room to be finished at a later time and a tiger shadowing her as she navigated through the substantial home. After calling for the fresh blood to be prepared immediately, she was on the second level and opening his closet. The garage door opened.

One minute. Thirty seconds.

     Clothes lay neatly on the duvet covering the bed, along with a house coat. The animal at her feet looked up at her with excitement twinkling in those feline eyes, knowing what was happening. The car door closes.

Thirty-five seconds. 

     The tiger began his descent to the ground floor to await him. With the shower set though not started, towel in arms reach of the stall and dial set to the temperature he liked. Extra towels beside the tub as well if that was what he desired instead. She headed to the front door while brushing imaginary dust off herself. Keys in the door.

Five seconds.

With slow steps he’d walk towards you. Eyes falling to the bit of purple cast to the floor without even the spark of remorse in the air. Then to your expression as you looked up to him. So small against his figure that if you were not a vampire he’d fear for how you craned to look at him while he stood so close. Close enough for long digits to slide around the dip of your back and rest against your skin.

“With the holiday’s coming I’m sure it’ll be a easy night to find something. Come. Clean up a bit and then we can go. No sense in waiting for the darkness to fall when it will easily cloud the skies while we drive to the city.”

     A quick glance out the window at the just setting sun, she nodded. Delicate fingers laying on his bicep for a moment before pulling away from his touch. “I’ll only be a moment then.”
