Eva St. James was a child of the sixties, a teenager of the seventies, and a rebellious woman of the eighties. She hasnât much changed since then. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Siren was the product of a loving home. Her parents, a Merrow and a Siren, were both artists that encouraged their daughterâs free-thinking ways. What they didnât tell her, however, was that there was a limit to the range her dreams of fame could reach. When her parents opposed her attempts at becoming a fashion model due to the risk of exposure, Eva ran away from home. The fifteen-year-old hitchhiked her way across the west, finally arriving in the city of angels. Los Angeles was where the action was, and if she was going to make it big, it would most certainly be there. Her pretty face got more than a few modeling jobs, and it wasnât long until she was rocketing to the top of the supermodel heap. The catwalk turned to camera work, as she found herself in a few hair metal rock videos for famous bands. She even dated a rocker or two, her face splashed all over the pages of magazines and gossip rags across the country.
The fast life style soon turned to an endless party, long nights spent on the Sunset Strip and in the arms of one celebrity or another. Her own modeling career was going strong, and the money was coming in quickly. The drug habit, heroin as was popular at the time, saw that the money went out just as quickly as it came in, but Eva didnât care. She was immortal, or as close to it as anyone could come. Since she would never lose her pretty face, there would be plenty of time to make more money. Her parents begged her to tone it down, fade into the background for a few decades, but the Siren would have none of that. She didnât understand the need for secrecy, everyone loved her after all. The day she turned thirty, things began to change. People began to whisper about the supermodel that didnât seem to be getting any older. Years spent partying hard hadnât aged her a second; she was still as fresh-faced as she had been when she signed her first contract. It wasnât long before the whispers turned to outright talk, and the eyes and ears of Solomonâs Judgment got wind of her.
The order sent one of their best agents to town to dispatch the Mythic. Michael Cristiano, of the infamous Cristiano family, touched down in L.A. the day Eva decided to split town. He cornered her in her hotel room, and the two fought violently. When she was seconds away from death, she dropped her human form, lulling the man into complacency with her voice. Her next act was to call her parents, who rushed to her side immediately. Killing the human was their only option; the girl needed a sacrifice to have the Rite recast, and he was the enemy. She left town - and the spotlight - after that, lying low until word of the prophecy began to spread. Eva was in North Carolina when a passing Harpy told her of the prophecy. There was a chance, however remote, that she could finally rid herself of this ridiculous form that had caused her nothing but heartache. She hated the fact her species had ever been forced to hide, and resented the hell out of her ancestors for taking part in the Rite. She left for Atlanta, intent on doing everything in her power to aid the other Mythics in their searchâŚand besides, it never hurts to have a few like her to watch her back.
Eva is a wild child, a hedonistic rebel with nothing to lose. Even though she has to lay low for a few more decades due to her fame, the Siren still parties every chance she gets. Sheâs been off drugs for a few years now, but the call of heroin is still strong in her blood. The Siren fights it with everything she has, but has had a slip up here and there. Sheâs a charmer, and uses her pretty face to get the things she needs, as her money dried up long ago. Sheâll work if she has to, but much prefers someone else to pay the way. Her drug use and partying are a direct result of her guilt at not listening to her parents. If she had listened, that man would still be alive, and she would be free to come and go as she pleased, instead of watching her back at every turn.
Note: This character is directly responsible for the death of Nick Cristianoâs grandfather. Nick DOES NOT know that Eva St. James is the Mythic responsible. He knows the Mythic responsible by her stage name: Jessie Maxwell, and he would not recognize her on sight. Conversely, Eva does not know the name of the man she killed, therefore, would not be able to connect him to Nick.Â
