Holy moly I think I completely forgot to mention it on my blog BAHAHA okay here we go.
Ever since I was 18 I’ve dealt with really bad chronic health issues. Fatigue, severe joint pain, muscle and tendon pain, stomach issues, skin issues, the list could go on honestly.
I would go from doctor to doctor for the past 5 years hoping so hard that they’d finally figure out what was wrong. But they never did. So for a couple of those years I stopped even bringing up how much pain I was in. Recently, I’ve been seeing new doctors who are much more attentive and receptive to my concerns. This past week I saw my dermatologist and explained to him my history and how I realized this year that everything gets really bad when my skin gets really bad.
He immediately knew what it was and he informed me I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. And I was like… so unbelievably happy. Because finally FINALLY someone had an answer for me. And now I finally understand what has been causing these issues. I know it sounds strange to be happy about a chronic illness diagnosis, but I had been suffering for so long and no one could ever give me an answer as to why. So to finally have my answer was a huge weight off my shoulders! He referred me to see a rheumatologist so I could get more help for my pain. So that’s my next step!
I’ve been using a cane for the past year when I have flare ups, but as things have progressed I have started feeling a lot of my pain in both my legs. I want to research arm crutches to see if those would help me a little more. Because my cane helps a lot! But it’s hard when both legs are acting up and I have to chose which one I wanna help BAHAH
So yeah! I just wanted to put this here! Because I feel like these things are important to talk about! Much like how I talk about mental health!! Also if you see me reblogging a lot of stuff that has to do with chronic illness and mobility aids, I’m in the middle of a really bad flare up and need the positivity to live on my blog!!!!!
