Misplaced-Marbles

I love you in the shade of gray And all that’s in between Set my paper heart on fire Drown my mind in kerosene.

   The human brain works non stop until death.  As you can imagine it’s very exhausting.  When I’m alone I don’t need to worry about my mental exhaustion.  I don’t have to catch myself or constantly guard my words and thoughts.  I don’t have to compare myself to the world.  I can just be me without a sense of inadequacy, and it’s then that I’m at my most content.    

   I’m not sure if all teenagers are burdened by the same types of problems that I am.  I know that those who are, are either institutionalized, and rightly so, or self medicate.  Honestly I don’t blame them.  Sometimes being alone with who you really are is absolutely terrifying.  However I find solace in it, not because I like who I am, but because at least I can come to terms with it.
