The brief trades of verbals blows was easily ignored as it had become a daily exercise between the two of them. Archer says something rude, Cu says something equally rude back and they go on with their work. When had he gotten used to that? …More importantly, why?
But as the issue of flour was brought up and his eyes landed on the remaining bags, trivial thoughts left his mind to think over their current situation. “I have a few bags at home,” though those were for personal use, they were the very same brand and type. “I’ll bring them in tomorrow and we can manage till Friday, then we’ll ask them to deliver a day early with a bit more before returning to the usual Friday delivery,” only they needed a bit more ingredients.
"Anything else that we’re lacking in? Eggs?"
Well that was a relief at least. Why Archer had several bags of flour at home.....nah he wasn't going to ask. It would be easier not to.
"I haven't checked the eggs yet, but the yeast is looking low as well. Our oil is okay..."
He hadn't gotten very far in his checking, the flour thing had thrown him a little. After all, that was a LOT of flour to suddenly be down.
Wandering Royalty
When had a cafe like this opened up here in Fuyuki? Illyasviel had returned for some time, however, she was pretty certain that it… was never here whenever she passed by.
Was the Carnival doing something weird?
Deciding that there was nothing in it for her even if she was to have worked out why, she made her way towards it, staring at the cafe sign for a moment. What did that say?
But the figure with blue hair was unmistakable by the window… only they felt a bit different. It was still early, which was usually an opportune time for Illyasviel to take her walks - but on the other hand she hasn’t had breakfast yet.
"Excuse me, are you really open?" With her hands behind her back, she walked up to the person, confirming him to be a face that she knows. …Except they felt different. But now that she had started to think about her stomach, it felt more important. Maybe she could have breakfast here.
Cu seemed lost in thought as he definitely cleaned the window, only to have his concentration broken by a light, strangely familiar voice.
Turning, the blue-haired male could only look confused by the young girl standing in front of him. What. But....what?
"...Yes we are....Ilya-chan," he replied, "I'm surprised you're here. Is Irisviel-san and Emiya-san with you as well?"
Of course, he had assumed the other was Archer's sister. The one from this world. It hadn't occurred to him that there could be another. Which was...well to be fair it was only normal.
Did Archer know they were here? He'd certainly failed to mention anything about it if he had. Huff.
Stuffing his cleaning cloth in his pocket, he gestured for Ilya to head inside. "I'll go tell Archer you're here," he said with a smile.
From the very beginning, Archer hadn’t trusted Cu with the accounting, stock and… well, everything that concerned numbers. Except the job of being a cashier, where they had a high-tech enough machine that would ensure no calculations were done wrong did Archer relent on letting Cu do that.
But the day had ended - thankfully, and Archer was cleaning up kitchen, putting what can be saved for today in the fridge and what not can into a basket to take home. It was odd, seeing a black clad male holding a basket that looked like it came out of a fairy tale, but it was spacious enough to carry the boxes that would secure the sweets properly in.
He hears Cu yell from a distance and closes the fridge with a sigh. If it was for yet another stupid reason…
While the cafe was spacious for the customers, places that only the two could be in were rather limited - but enough, that’s all Archer required. Ducking his way into the pantry, he walked up close enough, glancing to what he kept in here as he passed them by.
"What is it? Have you decided you want to sleep here for the night instead?" Archer certainly wouldn’t mind.
"Hey, screw you," Cu complained at their words, cheeks puffing a little in annoyance. It wasn't like their gruff nature was different then normal. Archer was usually a bit of an ass to him (and non-customers too if they earned it) but it didn't mean he would just sit down and take it.
Cu pointed at the bags of flour, and how there would normally be four more than there currently was.
"Did you even notice how much flour you've gone through this week? That's more than double gone than usual," he advised, hands on his hips as he counted mentally the days till their next dlivery.
...Maybe they'd have to get store-flour after all. Oh boy.
"Are we going to be able to make this last? Our delivery isn't until Friday afternoon..."
Obviously, he was worried. Which was fair, what was the point of having a cafe if more than half the menu wasn't available. Cu knew that Archer would not be interested in using low-grade ingredients. It'd be an insult to his cooking at the standards at the cafe.

There is two of them, Kayneth was sure that he has enough money to pay, but now he has to choose. Maybe both of them? No, he had ordered too much for his first day here and he’ll take too much time to finish it before this place got crowded—if it will.
Probably he’ll decide it when the waiter came to bring the order, he’ll have more than enough time to think.
It’s interesting to go into a new cafe and see couple of new stuff, although Kayneth felt like too bad that most of them are common cakes—even by the names.
For the special menu, he might have to order both of them…
After handing the order over to Archer, Cu trotted back outside to see if the customer had decided what he wanted for the Halloween specials. At least someone was eating them (or well...planned to?).
He smiled poiltely at the blonde man at the table. "Your desserts should be here shortly sir, did you decide on what you would like from the Halloween specials?"
While talking, and no longer shocked at their order, the waiter could take in the other's appearance. They didn't look like a local, but then again what did he know. He wasn't a local either but people tended to stare at him less now which was nice.
The blonde seemed stern, and Cu didn't fail to notice the other seemed glad they were the only customer present. Probably didn't like crowds much? Hmm...
It'd been good that the cafe was more busy than normal. It mean their days were full (and so was their pockets), but Cu had started to notice a lot of their newer customers were ordering rather large servings of food.
Instead of only ordering one or two things, one young woman had ordered the entire dessert and cake menu for herself.
Realizing that their usual stock orders were usually pretty small, enough to last a good two weeks, Cu realized it was probably a good idea to check the stock early. He didn't manage it much, except for the milk and things that had to be kept cold. Flour, oil, yeast. Those were generally handled by Archer but he, as part of his duties, managed the stock levels.
The waiter didn't even want to imagine having to tell Archer to use flour from the supermarket down the road. He'd probably end up the next dish for even suggesting it.
Yeah, he didn't want to think about that.
Cu tugged out his notepad and rested it against his hip, counting the bags of flour. There was...wow there was only seven left?! They had had fourteen at the start of the week and it was only Tuesday?!?!?!?!
He counted again to make sure, eyes wide. Surely...christ.
"Archer!" He yelled out from the pantry, cupping his hands around his mouth so it would carry. "Come here for a sec!"
Ah, all of them are pretty interesting, at least to him.
"Oh, I see." He didn’t really care about the chef being grumpy as long the food is nice, besides a smile wouldn’t make the food more delicious. At least when he didn’t have to face the grumpy chef he was talking about, though.
He sat on the table for two people since he’s not waiting for anyone. Just looking at the menu once more, he finally decided what he’s going to order.
"Give me all the desserts and Irish Cream Cheesecake." That’s the only cake that looked interesting to him. "That would be all—and also I want the ‘Halloween special’ you are talking about."
Cu was beginning to wonder if there was a pattern with their latest customers. Everyone seemed to be ordering ridiculous amounts of food. Which, in all realities was great for business, but it was still...weird.
"Okay, one of each of the desserts, and an Irish Cream Cheesecake," Cu wrote it all down and stuffed the pen behind his ear. "Ah, please let me know if you want the cupcakes or the mousse, I'll just go give this to the chef to sort out then get it for you."
Trotting behind the counter, Cu unhooked the spray bottle from his waist and put it under the counter before disappearing through the doorway to the kitchen. "Hey Archer, we have a customer already."
“You’re boring. My cafe is just fine the way it is. Once it hits November 1st, I’m throwing it away.”
"Are you going to tell me which knife you used or do I have to stab you with each and every one I have until I find out which one of them has been maimed?"
"The cafe should be decorated once in a while!"
"And oh look at the time, I should go take those customers orders. Bye Archer, enjoy baking your cakes!"

[[ I'm going to make food, back later. ]]
Two waiters, either they have another worker or the patissier work as waiter too. It’s not a problem for him, especially since it’s a new cafe and not a franchise of other well-known cafe.
"Cu Chulainn, huh…" A weird name, sounds Irish—it reminded him with someone but he prefer not to think too much about it.
He took the menu by himself, thinking that this place might had to add the waiter, but Kayneth was here for the cakes anyway. “Now, with who I should order it?”
Since the head waiter is still cleaning the glass and the patissier is nowhere to be found in his sight. It would be rude to actually call the patissier, right?
"That's right!" Cu said a little happily. Someone actually managed to say his name right, it had to be a miracle.
Watching the other pick up a menu, Cu hung the spray bottle on his apron and stuffed his cleaning cloth into a pocket. From the other pocket magically appeared a notepad with a pen. "Ah, ordering is with me. Trust me, the chef is grumpy haha."
He gestured for the other to take a seat somewhere. "What would you like to order? We also have a Halloween special, but feel free to pick from the menu."
There's no such thing as too much cake
mouldedweapon:
"Yes." She nodded affirmatively, her expression completely serious. She didn’t blame the waiter though - it was an unconventional order. But she was hungry and it was the time of the week for a sweet snack. And she didn’t care what others thought of her.
"Also, is the cake of the week still available?”
"...Right. Okay." Cu shook his head a little, quickly writing down the order, then blinked as she asked about even more things now.
Did this chick have a bottomless stomach or something?!
"Yes it is. This week it's red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. It can also come with a scoop of ice cream," he advised, pointing out the red and white cake in the display stand by the register.
"Also," he added, "Since it's nearly Halloween we do have Halloween themed mousse and cupcakes available...." Whether he should even be suggesting more food to this sweet-toothed woman was a little....But well, Archer had threatened to make him eat any let over cupcakes if they didn't sell.
Nevermind, he had no problems offering more food to the customer. They seemed enthusiastic enough to want a large spread of confections.
-calmly orders everything from the dessert and cakes menu-
Cu's eyes widened in surprise at the order. The woman's expression was plain, calm....and yet they'd just ordered ten different meals. Cu looked from his notepad to the customer again, his expression clearly showing his surprise. That was 6,000 yen worth of food...
"I erm....excuse me ma'am I just want to make sure I heard this right. You want one of every dessert and cake we have on offer on our menu? ...Was that right?" He asked. Surely he was hearing things. Even he couldn't eat that much sweet food.
He must have heard wrong. There was no way...

Kayneth heard about the new cafe that just opened not long time ago and it piqued his interest since it sweets. He doesn’t usually eat much, but he has some different part of his stomach that could handle all the sweets, but it doesn’t really match well with his image, right? So he prefer to go to the cafe where no one was there except the workers, which is fine for him.
Right when he saw the cafe, the blue-haired waiter just flipped the sign from ‘closed’ to ‘open’, nice. It’s still empty.
When he entered the cafe, he only saw one person there—and he’s cleaning the glass.
"Are you the only waiter?" Assuming from the uniform, he’s the waiter. There should be at least one for the chef—or patissier.
Cu paused in his cleaning as he heard an unfamiliar voice. Straightening, he glanced to the stranger and beamed at him. A customer maybe?
"Technically, there are two waiters, but I'm the head waiter," he replied, causally implying he was in charge. It wasn't like Archer could hear him, he couldn't get thumped for it out here with glass separating them.
"My name's Cu Chulainn, but feel free to call me Lancer. Our chef is inside preparing, but we are open so if you want to order stuff that's fine. I was just cleaning the windows."
Cu waved his hand around a little to show the cleaning cloth he was holding. Not that it wasn't obvious what he'd been doing but it seemed he had decided to ensure the other knew exactly what task he was completing.
