She cringed as the rag was pressed to her wound, her brows furrowing as pressure was applied. She was sure now that the ‘Saber’ who was treating her was not the Saber she knew, but someone who looked similar yet was vastly different. She wanted more answers, her eyes still full of distrust and suspicion even as the ‘Saber’ tried to stop her bleeding. Maiya knew she was being saved, but what would happen after? Was this the servant of another master who wished to imprison her and press her for information?
She opened her mouth, wanting to question but a sudden dizziness took her by surprise and almost rendered her unconscious. She swallowed a mouthful of blood, closed her eyes as she focused on her breathing. She barely heard the next few words said by ‘Saber’, but it was enough for her to understand the situation.
“My… thanks.” She managed after a few short breaths. Sweat trickled down her forehead as she closed her eyes again, trying her hardest to remain conscious.
Despite the aura of distrust that radiated off the fallen women, Nero worked diligently on helping, her desire to save the young woman overriding any sense of hesitation one would get faced with someone bleeding out in their arms. She wasn’t even sure why she was so intent on helping her but Nero had already gone this far and she was determined to make it to the bloody finish. Probably not the best term given the circumstances but one that was inappropriately appropriate.
“Oh no no no no no no. Don’t close your eyes, you’re not suppose to close your eyes.” Internal panic rose in the blonde woman as her patient closed her eyes and her breathing grew unsteady. From her many hours of medical reality shows and dramas, this meant that her efforts weren’t as effective as she hoped and time was running out. She would have to do something drastic or this woman would die.
“Listen. I don’t think help is going to arrive in time and I’m going to have to do something incredibly dangerous. I’m going to need you to trust me on this ok? Nod if you can hear me.”
