You just have to add the words, as many as you can and put your heart in.

writing doesn’t get easier.

sometimes you have to write for the sake of writing.

plot should be allowed to change.

the story in your mind will never perfectly translate into text and that’s okay.

characters change, they’re supposed to change.

you’re supposed to enjoy what you write.

educate yourself about the different cultures you write about.

your friends shouldn’t be your critics.

the side character you love so much? sometimes they need to be cut from the story.

write what you want to read and not what you think people want to read.

there is no age limit in publishing, you have all the time in the world.

not every idea will grow into a story, sometimes you need to let go.

love your story, because it will be just the two of you for a while.

Turn their best qualities completely upside down. Turn those traits around on them. They’re compassionate? Maybe they’re way too easily forgiving and get screwed over by it repeatedly. Extremely outgoing and extroverted? Maybe they’re apathetic to those who struggle with even having small talk, and make those people highly uncomfortable. Brave? Maybe they can be reckless and often get themselves in unnecessary danger.

want to write about a character who was forced into isolation and thus lives in a cottage in the middle of a forest? great, you’ll need to know about at least a hundred different species of herbs and flora, their properties, and how they are used. want to write about a character who’s intense logic prevents them from forming intimate romantic relationships? great, you’ll need to know at least twelve different theorems and eighteen different concepts spanning the curriculums of five academic subjects.

Okay so this is technically a reintroduction because I used to have a writeblr side blog attached to my main blog but y’know didn’t really use it or like having it as a side blog. so made a new one. 

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m 22, a Libra and from Northern Ireland. I play a lot of video games and get distracted easily. I can’t spell that well. Getting a history and english literature degree. 

What I write: 

- supernatural  - mystery  - fantasy - new adult  - crime  - small town dramas/romance

What I like: 

- supernatural - fantasy  - horror (but depends on the horror. Like there are levels that I can cope with)  - new adult - ya - mythology based 

My current WIPS are:  - The Bay  - Death Count (And one that’ll never be mentioned on the blog because it’s too attached to my main main)
