✂︎ ─── Kang Muyeol was born with the unfortunate talent of making misfortune listen. Give him a name, a belonging, or even a drop of blood, and he can weave curses into almost anything — bad luck, sleepless nights, broken promises, or something far worse. But every curse has a rule, and every rule can be broken. Muyeol has made an art of finding those weaknesses, unraveling hexes that should have lasted generations or turning them back upon whoever cast them. Together with his sister, he runs a small occult shop filled with cursed relics and things sensible people would never touch. Where Mirae sees what fate intends, Muyeol prefers negotiating with it. Charming, theatrical, and far too comfortable around dangerous things, he rarely refuses a bargain. Just remember: when Muyeol offers to solve your problem, asking for the price afterward is usually a terrible idea.

Muyeol owns an absurd number of scissors, yet somehow never has a normal pair when someone asks for one. Most are antique ritual scissors, silver blades, tiny embroidery scissors, or something that definitely should not be humming.

He makes little paper or straw effigies of people while thinking. Most are completely harmless. Mirae has an entire box of hers because he keeps making them whenever she annoys him.

Despite selling horrifying occult objects for a living, he is extremely particular about the shop looking nice. A centuries-old cursed mirror? Fine. Dust on the counter? Unacceptable.

He flips coins whenever he is bored. People assume he is predicting something. Usually he isn't. He simply enjoys watching them become nervous.

Muyeol refuses to curse children. He will, however, curse their parents on their behalf if he thinks they deserve it.

He keeps a handwritten blacklist behind the counter titled “PEOPLE I WILL NOT HELP AGAIN.” Mirae has caught him helping at least six people on it.

He is terrible at receiving gifts because his first instinct is always: What does this person want from me?

His favorite customers are skeptics. Watching someone confidently declare that curses aren't real while standing three meters away from approximately fourteen cursed objects is endlessly entertaining.

He occasionally puts extremely minor curses on rude customers: shoelaces coming undone, coffee always being slightly too cold, sleeves catching on door handles, forgetting why they entered a room. Petty curses are his guilty pleasure.

And perhaps most importantly: Muyeol has absolutely told Mirae, “Technically, I didn't curse him. I merely gave the universe permission.”

Muyeol is actually quite approachable on the surface. The problem isn't getting him to talk — it's figuring out whether he's being sincere, flirting, negotiating, or quietly figuring out what kind of curse would inconvenience you the most.
