    “ Dad’s SICK. ” He uttered, his voice b r e a k i n g on each word. Tears threatened to stain his porcelain complexion, welling in tired eyes that had not yet slept. He looked up, forcing the tears to not fall, as if the vastness of the sky could do such a thing. He willed himself to look at her, to find solace in her mere presence, but as soon as his gaze met chocolate hues, the tears refused to contain themselves any longer. “ And, and I guess I just didn’t want to be alone. ” 

     “ Sure it is, super non-existent and all. I just don’t get why we have to date ! And don’t tell me it’s because we could die at any moment, yeah I get that, but I’m not about to y’know, RUSH things. Pippa ! No ! No telling anyone, ever ! Not even Kevin, especially not Kevin. ”

     “ Well you can’t really blame them, can you ? I don’t think anyone’s IGNORING them, I just think, they’re doing the best they can. No one was trained for this apocalypse, so ... So what if they’re just working their shifts ? ”

     “ No, fine ! I’m on my best behaviour, show me how it’s DONE, Rose. ”

     “ Who says I need a wingman, or woman or whatever ? All I know is that I don’t need anyone BUTTING in. Me and Wins are so super cool right now, maybe, I like it the way it is. Why don’t you worry about your own love life instead of tryin’ to get hired a my winglady. ”

     “ An unrelated fact, considering, but anyways. I’m not useless y’know, I can do stuff - just not THIS kinda stuff. ”

     “ Just didn’t expect you to tell me that ... You don’t LIKE me do you ? Like like me like me ? ”

     “ Well you can’t just stick to yourself forever. Unless you plan on like, not stayin’ here long, which would be a dumb move. Friends are important, like really important. Who you gonna lean on when you get sad and stuff ? Which is INEVITABLE, we’re living in an apocalypse for crying out loud. Not that I won’t be you friend, but I can’t be your only friend. ”

     “ Alright, alright. Just sayin’, it’s like a trend now or something to date people older than you, like Sawyer and what’s his face. Hey, you can do anything you set your MIND to, you’d probably need help, bet there are a ton of secret rebellion-type’s here. Not me, but ‘m sure you could find people. ”

     “ You think I’m attractive ? Uh, really pretty ? ”

     “ Shh ! Let the whole town know, why don’t you ! And NO ! No freaking way ! You don’t say a word, to anyone. I already regret telling you. ”

    “ I don’t know, how old is he ? I don’t think I’m the ONLY one, it’s like, whether you support him or not, in the end he’s the one who made all this possible. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind, I don’t know why he would, unless you’re plotting to start a REBELLION or something. ”
