But it’s also clear that she views Bruce as safe. A safe place to try out romantic feelings. Because he doesn’t/can’t want kids and has to be careful with getting close to people. I think that Nat developing feelings for Bruce makes absolute sense with the journey her character had taken.

Confession: I understand how people can feel uncomfortable with Cole, he is a little strange. But I love him to death. I have worked with children with mental disorders in the past and my mother is a teacher in a special education class. He reminds me of some of the higher functioning students we’ve met. Unique speech pattern, sweet and genuinely kind, but lacking knowledge in and experiencing difficulties in social interaction, it’s all similar to high functioning children I have worked with. And the growth you can see in him through Inquisition is similar to what these students show when given enough attention and help. I understand how others feel, but it just seems to be the same bias that people in real life tend to have against people with mental and developmental disorders.
