It’s a Cookie kind of day (One Shot)
Miranda and Brendan were currently at their home in New Jersey while they had the week off, Miranda recently had a big Grammy win and the ACM’s were just a week away and she had spent Easter weekend with her family in Texas
Brendan woke Miranda by kissing her neck “Wake up baby” he wraps his arms around her
She groans and turns around in his arms “It’s so early” she mumbles
He laughs at her “Landon will be awake soon and I want my girl to myself for a few minutes” He kisses her cheek
“You’re insane” She laughs at him
They were interrupted when the door opened and the 2 year old ran onto their bed
“Ranna!” He screamed and hugged her
“Hi buddy” She laughs and kisses his cheek
“So you’re going to say hi to Ranna and not daddy?!” Brendan tickles Landon and giggles fill the room
Miranda’s heart melted as she watched him with his son he was really the best dad
“What do you want to do today buddy?” Miranda asks Landon
“Bake cookies!” Landon smiles
“What kind of cookies?” Miranda asks
“Chocolate Chip!” Landon exclaims
“That’s my boy!” Miranda smiles at him
Brendan always admired how amazing Miranda was with his little boy she was so natural with him and he eventually wanted to have one of their own so she could experience being a mother
“Let’s go make breakfast” Brendan throws Landon over his shoulder and walks into the kitchen
Landon was sitting in the living room watching Mickey Mouse while Brendan was preparing breakfast
“Do you need help?” Miranda walks in the kitchen and asks Brendan
“No baby, go watch him and i’ll get it” He kisses her lips
“Ranna” Landon cuddles into Miranda as she walks in the living room
“I love you too babe” She kisses his head
They eventually eat breakfast and Brendan was going to do some cleaning around the house and Miranda and Landon were going to bake cookies
Miranda gets all of the ingredients out and pours them into the measuring cups for Landon
“Pour them into the bowl” Miranda tells the toddler and he does as she says
“You want to try stirring?” Miranda asks Landon
“Yes” He replies and stirrs the cookie dough as best as he can
“Good job bud!” Miranda says to him as she finishes stirring and puts the cookie dough on the cookie sheet and puts them in the oven
“Ranna, when will they be done?” The two year old asks
“In about 30 minutes, how about we watch a show and then they will be done?” She asks him
He nods and holds his arms out to be carried
She picks him up and walks him to the couch and sets up Mickey Mouse for him while she goes to clean up the kitchen
“Cookies are done!” Miranda says to Landon as the oven beeps and the sound of running footsteps fill the room
“You can have 2 for now and more later” Miranda says and hands him the cookies
“Thank you Ranna” He says and eats his cookies
“You’re welcome baby” She says back and wipes down the counter
“Hey bud, go bring these to daddy he may want some” Miranda says and hands him cookies to bring to Brendan
“Daddy!” Brendan rums down into the room where Brendan is
“Cookies!” He says and hands Brendan the cookies
“You made these?” He asks and picks Landon up and Landon nods im return
“You did a good job buddy” Brendan kisses his head
Brendan finished cleaning and went to hang with his family
“You are so amazing with him” Brendan hugs her from behind and kisses her cheek as Landon watched TV
“I love my boys” She smiles back
As the night goes by and they eat dinner they all cuddle up on the couch with all of the cookies they ate that day and eventually drifted off to sleep.
