I finally love a recent Katseye song (Animal) and kept listening to it on repeat today. But taking a closer look at the lyrics, I can't help but feel uncomfortable. Because the girls are not the one writing the lyrics, and that they keep getting more and more sexual at every song they release. And if you keep in mind that they are just young women/girls employed by two big companies that are lead by grown men, it's just weird. They don't have to give them this aesthetic, this sexual vibe (adding that to their clothes and their MVs that are clearly sexualizing them).
If they chose what they sang, it wouldn't be a problem. But the clearly don't, and the company clearly doesn't care about them as people, only as "products" (ok maybe I'm going too far but that's the feeling I get, and that comes all the way back from Dream Academy, aka torture for young girls academy).
This and Sophia saying that they’re not being exploited because they’re “no different from Britney or Christina” BRITNEY SPEARS???

Oh wow. The worst thing is that I've seen so many "fans" who claim the same thing as they do. I also hate the fact that when they went into Dream Academy, they never knew it would be a "battle royal" show (I forgot the term they use but it's the same concept), and when they got into the group, it wasn't sexualised at all in the first place. They just lie to them constantly, and it's basic manipulator's strategy. Making them too involved for them to leave so that they can make whatever they want of them. I'm pretty sure that's also why they took a 16yo (or is she 14? I don't remember) girl for Saint Satine, over the experimented 20yo candidate. And with the departure of Lexi, it sort of confirms that chosing young girls is better for their economic strategy.
