Calling in a Promise - Even with over thirty years of chronic pain, this came right after a bad car accident that changed how I live life. Using Chuuya as an outlet helped me see how I am so much more than my pain, or my mobility. It's a near and dear.
Incorruptible - This is my baby. Written little by little, mostly on paper scraps at work, and then it became so much bigger than I ever hoped in the transfer process. Fun times to write.
Lost in the Rubble - This was just too much to write, and I was experimenting with a dual-timelines narrative style that I'm actually quite proud of, and has made its appearance in other portions of my writing.
Promises I Won't Keep - My love/hate. I love this fic, but I want to re-do it and do it so much better, and yet not ruin the complete feeling of writing this entire thing in 3 hours on top of a mountain while freaking out for the Whumptober daily deadline (that I set for myself)
Extrication - I am a huge fan of Chuuya saving himself, because he's a capable fighter and Executive of the Port Mafia, and having Dazai had freakouts because he Doesn't Know How to Deal With That. This was very fun to write and very fun to re-read.

"Eroded the core of Port Mafia", a quick look at a possibly deeper meaning in BSD 129.5

The official translation of this page hits harder than the fan one which simply states 'Port Mafia lost a ton of personnel.'
The official translations says: "The vampires had heavily eroded the core of the Port Mafia"
The same scene shows other members such as Mori, Kouyou, Hirotsu and Kaiji, but I think it's deliberate that the framing of the panel focuses on Chuuya. He is arguably seen a driving force and the heart of Port Mafia, highly respected by subordinates.
It could be seen as a metaphor for his own core being worn down.
For Chuuya the Mafia is his family.
They see him as family.
In the stage plays we can see he doubted himself because he was once their enemy and didn't think he was fit to lead. However we know that's not the case. Many could see through that rough exterior and saw someone they felt were a worthy successor, including the Flags.
Many of them might now be dead after the outbreak, never see Chuuya reach that possibility, as Chuuya has to deal with more dead subordinates. It's clear by his expression this is weighing him down.
Death has always been part of Chuuya's life. His 'birth' caused many to die in the explosion that formed Suribachi city.
Chuuya likely saw members of Sheep die. They might possibly be buried with Rimbaud (who Chuuya honored with a resting place as the man didn't have family and was seen as a traitor by Port Mafia) in the small grave site located on the edge of a cliff away from the rest of Yokohama.
Chuuya smells of incense because he visits the resting place of the Flags. He has always been someone that respects the dead.
We've seen across media it doesn't seems to get easier for him
How many funerals has this 22 year old been to?
I dont know if this means anything for the future, but I found the focus on Chuuya for that line instead of Mori, the boss of Port Mafia, to be interesting.
Maybe one day we'll know for sure... but this is my idea for what went down and the person I think Q targeted for maximum chaos and damage
Reasons why I think it could be Chuuya;
SPOILERS FOR STORM BRINGER
Timeline wise, it fits. Q mentions Dazai's 'new friends' are easy to break, which implies the person Q targeted in the past was likely someone Dazai was generally close with. This could mean;
Odasaku, Ango, Akutagawa, Chuuya (I know some of you are going "They aren't friends!" but their relationship is complicated so we'll consider them as people Q would have thought were Dazai's friends.)
Q's ability has conditions, it's a single target ability that activates when Q is injured and the doll rips. Ango doesn't have a combat ability. Oda is incredibly efficient in combat but his proficiency is in guns and martial arts. Akutagawa is a very likely contender but the reason I think it's Chuuya;
Chuuya considers Port Mafia family and values life. If he were the one to be affected, the one that murdered his companions, I think he would be the most distraught. And Chuuya's destructive force is unparalleled even without corruption. His use of combat combined with gravity makes him absolutely terrifying.
On top of that, Chuuya's humanity is something that is important to him and on some level, Dazai as well. Dazai was willing to give up a plan with high chance of success to save Yokohama and try to quickly come up with another if it meant Chuuya could have answers to what he is. Chuuya sacrificed that and went with the plan with the highest chance of defeating Verlaine.
Dazai also mentions hating mind control, again, something that's particularly important in Chuuya's case thanks to the coding in Chuuya's head possibly forcing him to activate corruption against his will, to be used the way Paul Verlaine was with forced command orders. So Q taking away Chuuya's autonomy and breaking his spirit would be a good reason, imo, why Dazai does not like Q.
Again, all speculative :) Hoping one day we'll see what happened. Honestly I'd love to see more of Q.
