May
April
March
I was very inspired by the gingham in my mom's setup for February, so I did something similar for my own setup for march. Though with using some acrylic markers instead of only ballpoint pens to draw some daisies.
I really like the purple accents in the titles with the green, and I love how much it reminds me of a picnic basket, though I don't think spring has quite arrived yet.
February
In my biggest plot twist this far this year, a second fully hand drawn spread!
This one I wanted to have a more retro theme with cherries. I regret not making said cherries look more like neon signs, but that may have been too much. Perhaps in a future theme..

A completely hand drawn theme for once?? Shocking!
🌌January 🌌
I don't have much to say about this one, it didn't really turn out how I wanted, mostly because I was too lazy to draw very much, but it's made, and usable.
Happy New Year!

Your brain forgets. Your planner should remember.
Most advice assumes you need better sections. Prettier layouts.
But here's what happens when I'm overwhelmed.
My brain deletes the evidence.
I call this "capacity amnesia."
When stress hits, I forget I've survived hard things before. My capacity vanishes from memory. Every new challenge feels impossible, even if I did the same thing last week.
So I don't use my planner to guilt myself into doing more.
I use it to build "Capacity Receipts."
This is my memory backup.
I write down the task. How impossible it felt to start.
Then I log the time it took to finish.
When I'm spiraling next week?
I flip back.
I see the receipt.
→ "Felt impossible"
→ "Done in 20 mins"
Past-me testifying against the lies present-me tells.
Structure helps you execute. Structure also helps you stay sane.
Does your brain delete your wins when you're stressed?
Like and share this if you need more receipts and less guilt.
❄️ December ❄️
For my mom's theme this month I really wanted to do a cozy blue themed layout, and I was planning on experimenting a bit with some new spreads but that was vetoed.
So we ended up with a very quick and easy spread that took me three weeks to complete..
But at least it's shiny and pretty, and I don't need to deal with the annoying sticky bits!
🧣December 🦝
I still can't decide what type of theme I want to do for December, given it's the first one in my next journal, but also Christmas.
So we have a poll that I might honour this time.
Which December theme should I do?
Neutral Christmas-y winter one
Pink wintery one that's not so Christmas-y
Wintery, snowy animals
For the sake of having somewhat different themes between the two spreads I post, I should point out I'm doing a blue winter/Christmas-y one for my mom's journal, ergo no blue themes on the poll (also, that spread gave me a headache, I don't want to repeat that)
November spreads
Now I know that November is probably late to start doing a fall themed spread, but I don't particularly care, and I really wanted to do a fairy spread at some point. And my mom just really liked a new sticker sheet I got with mushrooms and fall leaves, so naturally hers became a very cozy fall theme too.
And for the first time in the year that she's been using her journal, she actually did some of the setup herself! It was incredibly frustrating to watch her counting out each square of the calendar when I usually just measure it, but I injured my hand and couldn't really do that part. Though I still managed to do the hand letting, and later get the lines inked in. All in all I think both spreads turned out incredible, and I love them both.
And since I thought it was cute, and a bit funny, here's a blooper picture with my kitten photo bombing my attempts at photographing my spreads.
