alice-inaurorlandâ:
Alice just smiled as she watched Minerva and her little girl interact. She had to admit, the sight made her slightly jealous. Alice would adore to have anothe baby, especially a little girl. Of course she adored her little boy, but their family really did not feel complete. She knew this wasnât the right time. Some of the stories Frank came home with, and the whispers she heard. Sheâd already had one baby in the middle of a war, and didnât want to bring a second into that life. Alice also knew that the voldermort did return that they would be high on his target list, if not top of it. Heâd already came after her son once, and she knew if he returned he would come once again. They didnât have Augusta to protect them this time.
But, she pushed those thoughts aside, and decided to live for today, for at least now. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and wasnât going to let the concerns she had ruin things. âYouâre too good to usâŚâ She murmured with a little laugh. Alice was honest with those words. She knew Minerva saw a lot of kids, but the fact that she remembered her sons favourite treats, meant a lot to her.
âYou compliment me too muchâŚâ Alice murmured, moving towards the parlour where she had set up the tea. âOne day the tea will disappoint, and Iâll be very embarrassed.â
Minerva laughed as she followed Alice to the place where they always took their tea, waving off the younger womanâs comment. âI entirely doubt that would ever happen,â she replied honestly, glancing over her shoulder to make sure that Ailsa and Neville were properly occupied. It delighted her to watch her daughter have the chance to play with children her own age. Sometimes Minerva worried that the little girl was two serious, considering who her two parents were. At least Minervaâs older two children had been close enough in age to have one another for playmates. A strict professor and a hardened auror didnât really make for excellent playmates for a four year old.
Turning her attention back to Alice, Minerva joined her at the table and eagerly reached for the cup of tea that Alice poured for her. It was a specific type that Minerva hadnât found anywhere else, and she wondered once more whether Alice grew it herself. She had never asked, but why? Laughing to herself, she put the cup down and looked up at Alice. âOkay, I have to ask. Where do you get this tea?â
Glancing every so often over at the children to make sure they were getting on just fine, Minerva settled in, glad for the opportunity to relax and enjoy casual conversation with a friend. âAnd how are you doing lately, dear? How have things been?â
