Debanhi Escobar disappeared 13 days ago when she left a party. Her friends left her stranded on the highway but sent a “trustworthy” taxi driver to pick her up. The taxi driver also left her stranded after they got into a verbal fight. He took a picture of her and left. Debanhi was then searched everywhere, on every corner of her state, Nuevo León, her parents hoping to find her alive and well. Like we all did.

Debanhi was found last night nearby the place she was last seen. But not in the way we all hoped. My heart is breaking because I cannot fathom this is the world we live in. A world where women cannot even walk a mile, A MILE, before being hurt. I hope there is justice for her, for the 5 murdered women who were found while searching for Debanhi and for all the women who suffer and get attacked just because they are women.
