I want to eat watermelon on the porch at dinner time in my
Sweat soaked knickers and
Complain about the heat
To drink cold beers and burp
At the men who stare at my bare chest over the garden fence
As I swat away the mosquitoes
I want to sit on the kitchen bench
Drenched in sunlight and the rancid smell of dirty dishes
Rubbing ice cubes over my skin
Instead, here I am cursing the winter for
Rubbing ice cubes over my bones
The grass is never greener
It is dead or it is frozen
All I know is that
Summer fucks me up and
Winter fucks me over
