Primordial Mother

I wanted to portray a divine mother/feminine deity, kinda like the Hindu goddess Kali. She is both frightening and loving. The she-wolf is eating and birthing, for she decides who gets to live and die. ‘From the womb to the tomb’. A cycle that never ends.

The dead are enlightened and praying for the living. They are the soil for creation. I think the wolves are the the destructive side of human nature, they are crying and yearn for love.  

I usually don’t have a meaning beforehand, it happens as I work on it. I’d rather have the piece speaking for itself and let the viewer have their own take on it, but I wanted to try to explain how I feel about it. :)
