The fact that anyone can turn their backs on you in a matter of seconds terrifys me. You put your trust into people you care about and then BOOM they do something to hurt you wether that's intentional or unintentional. Its sad that you can't trust anyone anymore because people tend to lie through their teeth a bit too much. They say one thing and do the complete opposite and you wonder if having friends is actually worth it because people shatter your trust. I trusted you and you lied to me. No one can just say what they mean anymore and I guess it's the internalized guilt that comes with it but I rather face a harsh truth than a pretty packaged lie. There's more shame that comes with trusting a liar/manipulator because you feel stupid. I guess it's better to be alone than to face rejection upon knowing your best friend or your lover doesn't care about you. It hurts so bad knowing that you don't matter to anyone that people would rather fulfill their own selfish needs.
