Monday~

Your alarm went off, filling the once peaceful air. You groaned and grabbed your phone, trying to find the button to turn it off with your eyes closed (for some reason, why would you do that??)

Y: "ughh…"

Your mothers voice called down from the kitchen. Breakfast filled the air with a sweet scent.

M: "Y/N! Get changed so you can have your breakfast!"

You groaned once more before sliding off your bed. You slowly walked into the bathroom, flicking the light on.

After washing your face and brushing your teeth, you put your uniform on. You smoothed down one of the wrinkles on your skirt.

You ran down the steps, fixing a hair clip. Your mom smiled warmly.

M: "There she is. There’s pancakes on the table, baby."

Sliding into a chair, you hurriedly grabbed a pancake and started munching on it.

M: "Slow down, you’re going to choke."

Y: "I can’t be late to school, mom!"

You ate the rest of your pancake fast before rushing up. Giving your mother a quick kiss on the cheek before dashing out the door. She sighed.

M: "What am I going to do with her…"

You got to school just in time. You sighed as you made your way to your locker. Wonhee slid to hers besides you.

W: "Morning, N/N!"

Y: "Morning, Wonhee!"

W: "You think Keonho is still mad at us?"

You surprised a snicker.

Y: "He was never mad, just being the pouty kid he is."

You both laughed, both of you opening your lockers to grab your notebooks.

Keonho was whining the whole day to get your attention back to him, wanting to be your best friend again. You were playfully being petty.

In sixth period, that little sucker got an idea. He leaned against Juhoon’s desk, whining.

K: "Oh, Juhoon. Y/N doesn’t pay ANY attention to me! Isn’t that sooo rude?"

Your eyes widened from your assigned seat next to Juhoon’s. Giving Keonho a "what are you doing" look.

J: "Maybe if you weren’t so energetic all the time, she wouldn’t ignore you…"

Juhoon whispered under his breath. Shocking Keonho AND you. Keonho covers it up with a mocked offended gasp.

K: "ex-CUSE ME?! I am not that energetic! I’m very likable! I’m the most favorite in our band because I’m the maknae!"

J: "just because you’re the Maknae doesn’t mean anything.."

Juhoon said with slight amusement. You had the ignore the flip your heart did when you saw that soft smile.

K: "UGH! You are just a hater! Just ask Y/N who’s her favorite in the group!"

Keonho said confidently, thinking you’d say him. Juhoon looked over at you, though still kept some distance as if you were going to yell at him or something.

Your eyes widened slightly. Feeling Juhoon’s eyes on you felt different. You swallowed, fighting every urge to scream "Juhoon is my favorite!"

You stumbled over your words until they shot out.

Y: "Martin’s my favorite!"

Keonho gasped, now actually offended. Juhoon’s eyes flashed briefly before looking away.

K: "How dare you Y/N! I thought I was your favorite!"

He said in a huff before waking off.

💭J: "I thought she’d say I’m her favorite. I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up…"

Juhoon grabbed his pencil and started to work. The poor boy thought he didn’t have a chance, oblivious to all the lingering looks you’ve given him all year.

On the other hand, you sighed in relief. Glad you didn’t get caught. You picked up your pen and started writing…

You walked into class like any normal day. Paper planes flying around the room from the rowdy boys, girls in their groups talking gossip. You took a seat in the middle row, taking out your sketchbook and English notebook.

K: "Y/n!"

Keonho exclaims from across the classroom. He slid into the seat next to yours with a bright smile.

K: "Did you do the homework? I totally forgot to do it!"

Keonho grins sheepishly. Taking out his forgotten homework. Luckily his best friend was here to save him!

Y: "You forgot to do it, or you just didn’t want to?"

You asked, raising an eyebrow. Though, you reached into your bag and gave him your homework. The boy smiled and took it eagerly.

K: "Well-"

Y: "Don’t 'well' me, just say it."

K: "Ugh! Always so demanding! Anyways, me and the boys were working on our songs all last night and I didn’t have time to do it!"

Keonho tilted his head like an innocent puppy, knowing he’d get away with this one.

K: "Plus, it was Juhoon who made us stay late~ he wanted to re-run the whole song!"

You went quiet before turning away, a blush on your face. Trying to hide your rosy cheeks, but Keonho saw right through you.

He took your continued silence as a go and started copying down the homework

A whole day of Keonho’s relentless teasing and some gossip with your other girlfriends passed, and finally, History. The second to last class of the day, and preferably your favorite class. Why? He was in your class. Juhoon.

The teacher blessed you by making him your seating partner for the whole year. Yet, you’ve only ever talked to him so little, because he’d always cut conversations short. Almost as if he was afraid of you.

You slid into your seat, making sure your hair was perfect, because you never know what’s going to happen. You took out your pen and notebook. Taking a deep breath.

Juhoon slid in the seat next to you. Not saying a word. Taking out his own supplies, he accidentally bumped you with his elbow.

J: "Sorry…"

He apologized quickly. You sighed and offered him a small smile. He quickly fixed his stuff and sat straight.

It was practically a hassle to keep your heart in check. You swore your girl best-friend Wonhee could hear it from across the classroom.

During the lesson, Wonhee looked over and gave you a smile. She gestured to Juhoon, which you quickly blushed and mouthed to her to stop.

T: "Ms. L/N."

Mrs. Chao said sharply. You froze and slowly turned to her. Swallowing back embarrassment.

Y: "Yes, ma’am?"

T: "Would you like to share to the class what you and Ms. Lee we’re discussing about across my class?"

You felt your face burn. Eyes all on you. Your heart pounding. You lowered your head in shame.

Y: "No, ma’am."

T: "Mhm… very well then."

When Mrs. Chao looked away, you shot a glare at Wonhee, who giggled.

You exclaimed. Wonhee giggled at your misery, Keonho raised an eyebrow.

K: "Wait, what happened? And who’s Mochi? Isn’t that the snack?"

You shot a light glare at Keonho, Wonhee bursted out laughing more.

W: "In history, Mrs. Chao caught me and [nickname] talking, so she called on her!"

She slapped him on the arm, Keonho hissed. Wonhee whispered into his ear.

W: "And Mochi is Juhoon, you idiot! Codenames!"

K: "You girls and codenames, why can’t you just say their names out loud!?"

Y & W: "You’re so stupid."

You and Wonhee both said in unison and sighed. Keonho dramatically placed a hand to his chest.

K: "So hurt!"

He grinned. Comfortable silence fell over you three. Until Keonho HAD to break it again.

K: "So, [nickname], where are you going afterschool?"

W: "Probably to her sanctuary."

K: "Ahh, yes! The beach! The most romantic place to-"

You grinned, hitting Keonho again. He whined.

Y: "Shut up! But yes, I am going to the beach. I need to collect rocks for my art class. Do you guys wanna come with?"

W: "Sorry, babes, I would, but mama has to take care of her siblings tonight."

K: "And I have to work at the studio. Martin has some new ‘song suggestions’."

Y: "Oh boy, I wonder how that’s gonna turn out."

W: "Right?? Didn’t he try to wrap a verse about chocolate chip cookies last time?"

All three of you looked at each other and laughed.
