I think this is interesting because both of these men have flamboyant personalities and wear clothes that reflect their mindset and personality based off of who they are around. Lalo and Saul are kinda chameleons in that regard when it comes to their costume design.

Remember when Lalo meets with Gus? He wears yellow. It’s a way to kinda get on Gus’ level or humiliate or challenge him. Im pretty sure when he first meets Jimmy- or Saul at this point, he wears blue. Blue is the color that the lawyers wear. I mean at this point, Saul Goodman is all over the place but my point stands, Lalo’s color palette is based around his mindset and those he is around.

Saul Goodman is constantly changing not because he is trying to blend in to his environment, but more so because of his colorful personality and persona. Jimmy was colorful too but those colors were mainly blue and yellow- a fluctuation in his morality. Saul Goodman has no morality, thus no consistent color palette.

I also noticed Lalo wears darker or more muted colors when he is in a situation of danger or violence. Again, his color palette changes depending on environment while while Saul’s is just overall inconsistent
