People don’t acknowledge Otacon’s trauma nearly as much as they should. I mean, his birth mom was killed by his father, he was forced to pilot a metal gear at 5 years old, his stepmother sexually assaulted and raped him multiple times, his father then killed himself and attempted to kill his stepdaughter when he found out about what his WIFE was doing to his SON, he then went on to be manipulated into building Metal Gear REX, was almost killed by Gray Fox, watched Sniper Wolf die, had to save Snake after he nearly died during the Tanker incident, watched his stepsister die after seeing her for the first time in years, lost Naomi (can’t say much abt that bc I haven’t played mgs4 yet), and then lost the one person who’d been there for him since Shadow Moses and he’d been living with, leaving him to parent a kid all on his own. Otacon is a fucking trooper, and y’all needa start acting like it. I’m sick of people downplaying his trauma and joking about it. Just because he doesn’t do big stunts like the other characters doesn’t make him any less strong.
