Thay woke up early in the morning, sunlight streaming through the window, illuminating the entire room. Milo was fast asleep, looking truly rested now, his bandaged hands clutching his teddy bear tightly. His face was slightly flushed and his eyes were swollen from crying the previous night. She smiled, feeling a warm sensation in her chest. She adored that boy, and she didn't mind helping him at all.

After stretching and carefully getting out of bed so as not to wake him, she went to the kitchen, where she began to prepare tea and put out some fruit and cookies for his breakfast. She didn't know if he would wake up hungry or without an appetite, so she didn't pay much attention until that moment. When the kettle whistled, she left the kitchen carrying everything on a tray.

for a second he forgot about the previous day, forgot about why his hands were bandaged and why he was holding his bear.

"hello beautiful," he mumbled out, voice still thick with sleep before he cleared his throat, sitting up and bending over, slightly hunched. he could smell the tea from the kitchen, the lingering smell of citrus and berries she had prepared.

He let Thay lead him to the kitchen, sitting down at the bar stools and happily accepting the tea.

"hope it was easy enough to find your way around here, i didn't exactly give you a tour." he chuckled.

he chewed his lower lip, his nerves starting to get to him as the memories of last night flittered back in broken pieces. getting scared over something most people deem normal, freaking out, sobbing.

regressing on accident and making Thay take care of him. crying and holding tight, climbing on her and making her kiss his wounds like a child.

"uhm, yeah. sure. d'you wanna go to the couch? this feels a little bit..." he stopped to gesture at her from where she loomed over him across the island. "...i feel a little interrogation-y."

Milo moved with her to the couch, pulling his legs up and crossing them, Pickles jumping into his lap and curling up.

"I'll try to ask questions that aren't too...bad. And if I offend you or you're not ready to respond, that's okay." She started, Then she sighed, organizing her thoughts.

"i- uh- no. not really. i haven't really done it on purpose enough to like, figure it out or pick." he said bashfully, "i saw it online that like, regression can help when you had a shit childhood or like, i dunno, need something to escape into. but i've only ever ended up being small when i got scared -like yesterday- or when i was really sad and lonely back at the hospital."

he stared down at Pickles in his lap, gently petting the cat to try to slow his racing heart.

he took in a deep breath, still not making eye contact, but relaxing a bit that she didn't seem to fully be shutting him down.

"just, yeah. treat me softly, try not to be loud. from what i know i basically end up like a scared animal. i'm not really sure what triggers me but like, i guess dishes breaking is one of them," he muttered, looking down at his bandaged hands.

"using like, pet names and physical comfort and things is usually helpful. i have a stuffie too. and like, i dunno. i'm looking on getting something to chew on." he explained.

""Well, I'll try my best not to trigger anything....And I'll also help you figure out what your triggers are." Her voice sounded calm as she spoke to him.

"i tend to like, get really clingy and kinda teary-eyed and like. i can't really talk well." he explained, "well- i guess you saw some of it yesterday." he shrugged.

He perked up a bit.

He lead her to his bedroom, guiding her to sit on the bed before he crouched under it, reaching out and pulling a cardboard shoebox out from under the bed.

He pulled it up, sitting on his bed beside Thay against the headboard and pausing before he opened it.

"you already have seen Jake, he's my bear," he explained. he lifted the large, rather floppy bear up onto his lap, very gently petting its fur. "max got him for me when i came and visited him in med school. he's just an Ikea bear, nothing special, but he's special to me."

He put Jake down beside him, pulling the shoebox up onto his lap.

im real glad i have extra clothes but jeez im about to pull a whittaker with the sheer amount of how explosive these patients are.

oh we are so back.
