“I’ll actually kill you.” 

Your words come out less potent than you’d like because you’re huffing and puffing as you attempt to wriggle out of Hoseok’s grasp, but Jungkook still looks satisfyingly terrified at the sight of you trying to claw your way to him. All the time you’d spent with him not around made you think that you’d be ready and calm on the day that he eventually returned. Clearly you were wrong and as Hoseok’s grasp tightens in a preemptive measure while Jungkook and Yoori slide past you, you acknowledge that this rage probably should have been dealt with a while ago. 

“We brought wine,” Yoori brandishes the bottle of your favorite white wine in your face in a way that you think is supposed to be placating, but you’re not really paying attention.

Instead, you’re eyes don’t leave Jungkook’s terrified visage. With his forehead free of the thick usual glasses you can easily see the fear permeating the dark brown pools of his irises. He looks tan despite the fear draining color from his face, which isn’t at all surprising as many summers with him has shown you that he tans well and quickly. The part of the summer he spent in New York clearly wasn’t an exception. He looks stupidly good even with the weird baseball cap he’s wearing and it enrages you further. Why the hell he had to suddenly come back with a sense of fashion is beyond you. His outfit doesn’t resemble anything close to the typical clothing he donned when you were still on speaking terms.

Neither his shirt nor his pants have a single stain or hole in them and they fit him like someone picked them out with care, just for him. The Jungkook you knew prior to his disappearance was clueless to the existence of shirts that flattered his broad shoulders and tapered waist. He wasn’t partial to slim-cut jeans either; much less jeans that had holes strategically placed to expose the muscles of his thighs. You don’t even know how to process his stupidly large and expensive looking Nikes, though you’ve seen and admired on countless other, albeit cooler, students.

“Just let me go!” Your hand reaches out and just barely manages to grab the hem of Jungkook’s t-shirt before he skirts out of the way in a hurry and runs towards your living room for safety.
