The thing is we were gonna land in- We were coming back from Baku and we were going to land in Nice but at the same time we were going to land, there was an electric (thunder) storm right on top of the airport that was arriving at the same hour we were landing, so they redirect us to Genoa. Charles is a bit worried because the storm would arrive after the landing and he says to the pilot “No, we can’t, let’s go to Genoa, it’s just two hours in a car, it’s fine” and I say to the pilot “Hey, are you sure we can’t land [unintelligible]”
Reporter: You were hurrying him up
Exactly, but my teammate, my ex teammate was too worried, which I respect him [for it]- so they sent us to Genoa, and when we land in Genoa it was already midnight, and we went to the last Avis that was open because a commercial flight landed at that hour. We asked for a car, she said that there was only a van-
Reporter: Did she recognize you? Did the one at the counter recognize you?
No, it was a lady of about 50 years old approximately that didn’t know who we were, and didn’t understand we just wanted the car as soon as possible because we really wanted to get home and we were gonna arrive at one or two in the morning, and so she didn’t understand that we would’ve paid for the van to get home as soon as possible, and she was trying to find us all the discounts possible instead of giving us the car in like five minutes. So the poor lady, trying to help us, took like 25 minutes in giving us a car, and we were like “Please, just give it to us already” but trying to be polite like “Please [ unintelligible ], we want to get home!”
Reporter: Anything! It can be anything, four wheels.
And she suddenly says “an electric car for two people” and we were four people with all our luggage, “that’s all I have left.” And I said “No way, we need something bigger” and she says “Ah, then there’s the van” and I say “Then the van it is!”
