The time periods that Clover meets both are different yet offer a some type of contrast (Clover meets Asriel as Flowey while alive, and Clover meets Chara as a ghost while the former is also a ghost... atleast in UT Red & Yellow's case)

And finally, depending on how you write the couples. They can be sweet, fluff everywhere with some angst. Or borderline toxic, and deadly...

What do you think? Personally I enjoy both, like a win-win result.

That's fair. I think it still comes down to personal preference for me.
