“Five.” Lexie stressed on the syllables as she spoke, crossing her arms over her chest, “I don’t bargain unless absolutely necessary.”
“And why is bargaining not absolutely necessary? I don’t think anyone would waste five on that.”

“Of course there is Miles, you could try to read books, write, maybe even paint? Those don’t get you killed.” Jaylynn spoke. She shook her head a little, not averting her gaze. “You don’t have to be sorry..If that’s how you think then.. well no one can change it, right?”
Miles sighed and shook his head a little. “Music was the only thing that ever worked before. But it makes too much noise now, draws too much attention,” he muttered quietly. “I wish someone could change it...”
“Five rounds.” Ana gestured to the gun tucked into her thigh holster, “Take it or leave it.”
Miles debated on whether or not to take the offer for a couple of moments. It was certainly something that would come in handy, there was no doubt about that. But at the same time he wanted to know if he could get it for less. “What about four?”
OPEN;
“The guitar’s not for sale.” Lexie reached into her backpack, “But this is.” She pulled out the gun silencer she’d salvaged earlier this day.
Miles gave a short nod, looking at the silencer for a moment. “What do you want for it?”
“Try something new? I once read that sticking with the same old thing won’t always help.” She told him, tilting her head a little to one side when she noticed him look away. The following words that left his lips made her go silent, Jay just stared forward, not really focusing her gaze on anything. “Miles don’t say that..” She spoke softly, just hearing that he thinks it’s easier to be dead had more effect on Jaylynn than she expected, it did more than just upset her.
“Like what? There’s nothing to do anymore- everything either doesn’t exist now or doing it would end up getting you killed one way or another,” he responded, shaking his head a little. “I... “ Miles sighed again. “I’m sorry.”

“Then why did you attempt to tell me a lie?” Jaylynn asked him, she really didn’t see the point in lying if the truth was obvious, but then again she sometimes does it too. She just kept quiet and listened to him when he spoke, before sighing softly and raising her head to look him in the eyes. “Did you try..clearing your mind? I know it sounds stupid but you could do something you love to do, or go somewhere that calms you.”
“I-I just... I don’t know,” he sighed heavily. “I’m trying but... nothing works. All the bad in there, it just- it drowns out the good. I can’t think straight.” Miles looked away from Jay, turning his gaze back to the sidewalk for a moment. “It would be so much easier to just be dead.” Honestly, he hadn’t meant to say that outloud and he regretted it instantly. Whether it was the truth or not was irrelevant- he’d felt that way for years, but he just never told people that. It always made them worry too much.
Sawyer had been wandering around for quite a while right now, in hope to find anything that could be usefull to her but as most time her quest for supplies was unsuccesful. She soon noticed someone sitting on the pavement, was this guy plain stupid? He did realize that there were walkers right around the corner, right? “What’s up pretty boy?” She asked him.
Miles didn’t even look up from the sidewalk when he heard another’s voice. A potentially fatal mistake but he didn’t really care right now. “Nothing, I’m fine,” he responded quietly. A clear lie but he had hoped it would be enough to make her leave him alone.
A sigh left her lips as she sat down on the edge of the pavement before glancing at him “Miles, really think I’d fall for that?” She muttered softly “Now come on tell me the truth me the truth before.. Before I threaten to hit you with a vase.” Jaylynn chuckled slightly before raising her head to look at him “Sorry I’m not one for threats.. Just tell me the truth, please?” She asked him.
“No...” he sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. “I don’t... I don’t even know what’s wrong anymore. My head’s gone to shit, it feels like nothing makes sense anymore.” His voice wasn’t much more than a whisper as he spoke. “I just... I want everything to go away... and for my brain to work properly for once.”
Jaylynn felt a little hopeless, after going to Miles’ place last time, it was just her luck that she had to bump into Jacob, but knowing Jaylynn she wouldn’t give up so easily. So she gave it another try, secretly praying that this time god would be in her favor. Again her nightmares dominated over her dreams and stopped her from getting any sleep, but that would pass. As soon as she’d see him again, she was worried. About both Miles and her brother, it had been a while so of course she’d be worried. When she neared the building he was staying in, she noticed him, hopefully Miles and not Jacob. Jaylynn continued to walk towards him and stopped once he spoke. “Are you okay?” She spoke softly. He didn’t look that well, and that only got her more worried than she already was.
Miles lifted his gaze as soon as he heard her voice, his eyes meeting Jaylynn’s for a moment. “Uh... y-yeah...” He didn’t even know why he bothered lying, no one would have believed him. Everything was clear just from his face. He just didn’t want to have to admit it outloud. If he didn’t do that, he could keep lying to himself. Keep pretending that he would be fine, that it was something that would just pass
Miles was on the verge of a breakdown. It had been at least three solid days since he’d managed to get any sleep. His anxiety was reaching what felt like an all time high- his hands constantly trembling and at this point, he was struggling to get his words out. He didn’t want to keep going on like this; it was times like these that he just thought, what was the point? This was no way to live.
Miles had sat down outside of the building he was staying in. He just needed air, fresh air. This air wasn’t fresh though, the stench of the rotting undead lingered everywhere, it was inescapable.
He was too lost in his thoughts to even notice the person that was approaching until they were basically on top of him. “Do you need something?” He asked, though he didn’t raise his head to look at them. He just kept staring down at the grey sidewalk.

“Yeah, Scooter. I asked how you are.”
“I uh- fine. I’m fine.” It was the only response he ever gave to that question anymore- it was just a lot faster and easier than telling the truth. “I think the more important question here is how are you? I haven’t seen you since... well, since you were locked up.”
“Uh- sorry what? Did you say something?”
“I’m not really a stranger, you know my name, you’ve seen me a decent amount of times and you know I have a thing for Miles.” She shrugged at him. “Aw you’d do that for me?” Jaylynn chuckled a little “Nah I prefer waiting.”
“Knowing your name doesn’t mean I know you. And quite frankly, I don’t want to know you anyway,” he responded. “Just because you have something to do with Miles does not mean you can just waltz in here whenever you want if he isn’t about.” Jacob was clenching his fists by his sides now. “Well, I’d prefer it if you didn’t. And if you’re as fucking nice as you try to make yourself out to be, shouldn’t you respect other people’s wishes? Funnily enough, I’m an actual person with actual fucking feelings and sometimes I want to be left the fuck alone. Can you get that through that thick skull of yours, huh?” He was already beginning to lose his temper now.
“Well lucky you, I’m not a stranger.” She told him as a wide smile formed on her lips. “I don’t care if he’s not here, he might return any moment but maybe he’ll return next week. I don’t care. I’m staying.” Jaylynn shrugged before rolling her eyes at him and pushing herself off the bed. “Happy?”
“You may not be a stranger to him, but you’re a stranger to me. I don’t know you and quite frankly I don’t want to know you,” he responded bluntly. “Well how about I leave a note for him to come and find you when he gets back, hm? Because right now, you’re just wasting your time,” he sighed a little. “I’d be happier if you then proceeded to walk out the door.”
“You may be a gigantic asshole but you’re also a person that is probably able to relax once in a life time.” She shrugged before raising her head to look up at him. “I felt the need to see him again, like it or not Jacob but I really like the guy and there’s nothing you’ll be able to do about it.” She muttered. “Not just yours.”
“I do relax. I just tend to be able to relax when there are strangers invading my house,” he responded. “Well I’ve already told you, he’s not here. Come back another time when he is.” Jacob’s patience was already beginning to wear thin. “Get. Off. It.”

“You don’t like me so cut the darling crap.” Jaylynn muttered softly before letting out a deep breath. “I know you’re not him, and I also definitely know you are nothing like him. Thank god.” She raised her head a little before furrowing her eyebrows. “I know Jacob, but that’s no reason for me to leave.” She gave him a wide smile before sitting down on the bed “Now come on, relax. For once stop being a little stick up the ass and consider being a decent normal human being for once..Or you know, just accept that I’m sticking around.”
"Why should I?” He asked, folding his arms across his chest for a moment. “Great, since we’ve established that then, why exactly are you hanging around?” He asked, genuinely curious of the answer. “No. Get off my bed.”
She had to see him, she wasn’t sure what it was she felt but she felt the need to be near him. Guess that’s what happens when you love someone and don’t see them for a while. A sigh escaped her lips when she heard his voice, not Miles, but Jacob. How’d she know? Well Miles is the sweetest guy she had ever met and Jacob was practically the complete opposite of this. “Jacob, when will you warm up to me? I mean no matter what you say or do you know I won’t leave, so come on don’t make this hard for yourself.” Jay told him as a pout formed on her lips.
Jacob rolled his eyes. “I won’t. It’s as simple as that really, darling,” he muttered, shaking his head a little. “Why are you trying to stick around? I’m not Miles, I’m not like Miles. So get lost, he’s not here and no- I don’t know when he’ll be back either,” he responded, glaring at her as he spoke.
