yifeyreā:
Yifei stopped in her tracks when she heard a voice call out to her. When she turned and caught a glimpse of Miles, without really knowing what, something felt wrong.Ā āLucky for you, Iām a walking pharmacyā, she joked, a hand already reaching into her purse to retrieve the meds as she paced towards him.Ā āGive me a secondā¦ā Her brows furrowed for a split second, but before she could explain that her purse was huge and things easily got lost in it, she had two bottles of pills in her hands.Ā āI donāt know about the second one, but I have some Advil, so ibuprofen. And Aleve, which is naproxen. Pick your poisonā, Fei offered him a kind smile.Ā āAre you alright? I have a water bottle, too, if you need help getting those down.ā
āYou are amazing, truly.ā Miles chuckled, though he 100% meant that. He wasnāt sure if he wouldāve been able to make it to a pharmacy otherwise.Ā āIāve got a water, but thank you. Really.ā He smiled at her, opting for a couple pills of Advil. He quickly took them and chugged down some water - just needing this pain to subside enough until he got home.Ā āIām okay - I tore my ACL really badly a couple years ago so I just have a lot of pain when Iām on my feet for too long. I was being an idiot for not prepping for the pain today beforehand.ā
mrsmarissamartinezā:
Marissa was walking Louis after school when she found Miles.Ā āHi! Miles, right?ā she asked, not 100% certain of his name. She was still new to Barton Point High School, but he was even newer.Ā āHold on one second.ā She searched through her purse, pulling out a travel-size tube of Advil.Ā āI donāt know what that second one is, but this should do the trick.āĀ
When he recognized it to be Marissa, he smiled at her.Ā āThatās it. And youāre ... fuck, I know it begins with an M. Marissa, right?ā He asked, shaking his head at himself.Ā āIām shit with names, sorry. But thank you so much.ā He took the Advil off of her, taking two pills out for him to take with his water. He hoped theyād kick in quickly enough. When he noticed Louis next to her, he motioned him.Ā āAnd whoās this lovely fella, hm?ā
reeceworthā:
āThatāsā¦.Tylenol, right?ā Reece asked. He, of course, had it and swung his backpack over to place it on the bench.Ā āBad time at soccer practice?ā He asked as he rummaged the front pocket, finding a pack of gum he forgot he had then a usb which made him hum once.
āYes, right. Sorry ... still getting used to the American words.ā Miles smiled gratefully when he rummaged through his bag.Ā āI had an injury a couple years ago and my kneeās been fucked ever since. I think Iāve been on my feet for too long.ā
It had been one of those tough days for Miles. Since moving to Barton Point, he hadnāt had to think about football (or soccer he should say). However, since taking up post of the soccer coach at Barton Point High, heād be struggling. Thatās why he was here in Evergreen Park, trying to breathe deeply in and out to avoid escalating his stress and thoughts further. It was of course in this moment that his knee really started to hurt - glancing up from his lap to see someone he recognized about to walk past.Ā āHey, um, you donāt have any ibuprofen do you? Or even paracetamol?āĀ

About Miles ...
MilesĀ Jide Olatunji was born on April 13th, 1998, in Whittington Hospital located just a short ten minute journey from the home he grew up in. Heād be the only child between his parents Amrika and Ajani: growing up in a small, government-owned apartment in Tufnell Park. It went without saying that Miles had started off with a very pleasant life. He was definitely more of a mommaās boy which hurt him more when sheād be diagnosed with breast cancer when he was six. The cancer rapidly took her from Miles and by the time he was seven, she passed away. However, Miles wasnāt given the time to properly grieve the loss of his mother as his father had always had different plans for him.Ā
Heād be four years old when his father enrolled him into football, showing promise from that young of an age. Ajani saw the opportunity for his son to make it big: to be a professional football player that would make their family a vast amount of worth. So, even after the death of Milesās mother, Ajani enrolled Miles into their local teamās training academy - Arsenal FC. The training academy is where Miles would spend years of his life in. The older he got, the more skillful he became. He really was impressing his coaches by the time he reached teenhood and was part of the starting eleven for every squad he played in. Under 10s, Under 14s, Under 16s - he did it all. His last major achievement was being main striker of the Under 21s squad - only one team away from possibly starting in the biggest football league in the world: the Premier League.Ā
He really though heād make it too, until one foul game against rivals Chelsea FC changed the path of Milesās life forever. Tackled to the ground, heād take his first major injury and would end up being his last. Heād torn his ACL and ligaments in his knee - making it impossible for him to control it in a high-intensity atmosphere like the football pitch. Just before his 22nd birthday, Miles would be forced to leave Arsenal FC for good. Of course, heād felt his life was over. Everything heād worked towards had now all been for nothing: his father hadnāt allowed him to think of anything else besides football. You would have thought Ajani had been injured himself when the news had broken about the true extent of Milesās injuries. With their relationship having grown to be non-existent over the last few years, this broke them down completely. For a whole year after leaving his childhood dream behind, Miles had never felt more alone. His father ignoring him, no mother to comfort him, and his long-term girlfriend who had broken up with him just to add salt to the wound - Miles was a mess.Ā
His motherās brother, Ronnie, had become aware of his nephewās downward spiral. Having known exactly what Ajani was like, he knew he had to get Miles out of London as quickly as he could. They spoke frequently about Miles coming to visit him and his younger cousin in Barton Point: a small little town where people came for fresh starts. When Ronnie had suggested he moved here, Miles thought it was out of question: having been a London boy his entire life. However, being alone and surrounded with the constant images of football had become too much to bare. Heād move to Barton Point at the end of the 2021 summer season: in search of a new life thanks to his football savings. Now living in his own apartment, he landed a job coaching to the high schoolās āsoccerā team. Miles has found it difficult to go from player to mentor at such a young age. To the point now where even though heās trying to make a life change, he feels himself spiraling more than ever. Drinking and popping the odd pill whenever he can, Miles is truly lost in the grieve of what he couldāve been and prays everyday that heāll figure all of this out. Someday.
Personality-Wise ...
Miles had always been the cocky, popular type of guy growing up. His skills in football earned him a sea of male friends as well as the attention of any female he desired. Sure, he very much views himself to be a kind and nice person, but he also loves being the center of the attention: for good or for worse. Because of his past, Miles has only now just started to realise how arrogant and ignorant heād been to the real stuff around him. Some people would say heās stubborn and was in need of humbling. Miles doesnāt necessarily disagree but he also thinks heās got the natural qualities of humour, friendliness, and good looks.Ā
Despite this, Miles has also developed into a very hard-working and loyal person. To the people who are currently in his life, heāll defend them til his death. With the constant effort (and years), heās also extremely hard-working at whatever he puts his mind to. Sure, heās definitely been on a wobbly path the last year, but he tries his best to remain stoic in the face of the public eye. However, that stoic mask is starting to crack around him. Because of this, heās taken up partying a lot more and all in all just drinking in general. If youāre on a night-out in Barton Point, youāll most likely see Miles one way or another.Ā
Connections ...
Miles has his uncle Ronnie and cousin Luca who he lives not too far away from. Besides that, any connection types of Miles are open! Please message me either here or on discord if you wanna plot <3Ā
