HPG (formerly known as the PKK) fighters increase their fortification along the frontlines of Shangal. They come from the four countries; Iran, Syria, Turkey and Iraq that Kurds exist yet do not have their own country to help battle ISIS. Most of their work are identifying ISIS strongholds and co-ordinating with the Peshmerga for US Allied airstrikes, to underground urban warfare and sniper positions.

Family members of Amjed Wathah Aziz, 33, take his body to be buried in Wadi Al-Salaam in the holy city of Najaf. Wathah was shot and killed in a firefight with ISIS on Tuesday fighting with Hashd al-Shaabi in Al-Fatha near Tikrit. He left behind a wife and two sons.

Resistance militia Better Organisation train hundreds of new recruits to fight against ISIS. Better Organisation is not all Shia but consist of 40% Sunni fighters fighting to liberate Iraq from ISIS. They have been battling in Anbar, Kirkuk, Dhuluiya, and Samara

The US Military conduct a six month program teaching the Iraqi National Army in tactics to be able to combat ISIS.
