“You will.” He said firmly, putting a hand on her shoulder. “I believe you will.”

“I hope you’re right,” she said. She turned to look at him and asked, “Do you miss Coruscant?”

larrykenobi:

“Ah, now that will be much more difficult. You mandalorians are tough negotiators.” He joked with a smile.

The smile on Satine’s own face vanished as she said sadly, “I fear I’ll never see my home again. Let alone be able to save it.”

larrykenobi​:

“It isn’t easy, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to try.” He gave her a slight grin.

“And I’ll continue saving your life, so you can save your home.” He said.

“You make it sound so easy.”

larrykenobi​:

“You don’t need to thank me, but you’re welcome nonetheless.” He smiled at her.

“I know that.” He simply nodded at her. “But I want to. I know we’re not in the best situation right now, but I’d like to make sure you as comfortable as you can be despite all…this.” He said, gesturing to the cool cave around them as the rain outside suddenly sounded louder.

“Thanks,” said Satine. “For everything.”

“It’s no problem at all, I promise.” He gave her a grin despite the darkness of the cave.

Satine looked at him skeptically. “Just because you’re supposed to protect me, it doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice your own comfort for him.”

larrykenobi​:

He thought for a moment before moving over to sit by her, stripping his outer tunic off to drape over her. “Try this.”

“Are you sure? I’d hate to inconvenience you.”

larrykenobi​:

Obi-Wan hadn’t quite fallen asleep when she spoke, but it was enough to bring him out of his drowsiness. “I’m here to assist you in whatever you may need.” He said as he stifled a yawn. “Do you need my tunic to make a better pillow?”

“I don’t know,” Satine sighed. “Everything just feels wrong.”

He waited for a moment before turning onto his back, staring up at the dark ceiling of the cave for a few minutes before deciding he should probably close his eyes if he wanted to sleep.

Satine tried to sleep, but no matter how she positioned herself it was quite uncomfortable. She didn’t know how people managed to sleep without a comfortable bed. After about five or ten minutes of this, she sighed. “Okay, I need help getting to sleep.”

He nodded a bit and laid on his side, staying propped up on his elbow. “Just let me know if I can do anything to help you.”

“I will,” said Satine, closing her eyes and trying to find a comfortable position in which to sleep.

larrykenobi​:

“I have another robe layer on me if you need something softer.” He offered, pulling at the collar of his robe to show the tighter shirt underneath.

“No, I’ll be fine,” said Satine, trying to get comfortable. “You keep it.”

larrykenobi​:

“Not sure. We may be here a while yet, so I’d say get comfortable.” He sighed as he glanced outside, holding his hand out in the rain for a second.

Satine sighed, but nodded. “Not sure how comfortable one can be in cave, but I’ll try.”

“I can only hope, but it means a lot to hear you say that. Thank you.” He said softly, giving her a small smile.

“You’d be surprised.” He shrugged and looked at her. “You’re a very good person, don’t let this situation change you. You’re going to make a wonderful ruler over Mandalore.”

“And you’ll make a wonderful Jedi.”

larrykenobi​:

“I don’t even know who my family is. They’re strangers to me. They let me go to become a Jedi, they’d probably be disappointed if I returned a failure.” He sighed.

Satine frowned for a moment and chose her next words with care. “If that had been the case, you would, no doubt, still be a good person. How could any person be disappointed in that?”

larrykenobi​:

“Not necessarily.” He said. “They’d find some boring or grueling job for me within the order that I would probably have to stay in the rest of my life.” Obi-Wan rubbed his forehead at the thought. “The order is all we know.. I wouldn’t know what to do if I was forced out.”
