yes i am aware that there's a canon incest plot in dexter between dex and deb, i just highly avoid incest type of relationships... generally.

i'm mostly critiquing about brian and dex here, the fact that they get shipped romantically(often) just quite disturbs me, they're not even canon for the plot. it's that the relationship between brian and dex suddenly turning into incest feels alot like 'reducing complex canon to shallow fanon'

the flattening feels insanely 'fetish'-y aswell.

and for the record, deb’s therapist in season 6 literally made her think she was in love with dexter. the whole conversation changed as soon as she mentioned that dexter was not her BIOLOGICAL brother (still, they grew up together and called the same people their parents).

have whatever kinks you want, but don’t try to turn and twist the canon story.
