‘ i’m not mad.’ that was a lie. a bare-faced one. he knew it, she knew it. but meh. shoulders lifted in a shrug, ‘ i just - i thought i counted for something. guess not though. ’

‘ — you’ve got about two seconds to get the fuck out of my office, mikhail. after that, i’m arresting you. ’

‘ and what’ll you charge me with? poking a sleeping bear? ’

 ‘have you gotten taller since i left? i think you have.’ she doesn’t waste any time tugging her little brother (who is unsurprisingly taller than she) into a tight hug. ‘i’ve missed you, baby brother.’

‘ just because you take after mom ...’ he shot back, a grin growing as he let himself get pulled into a hug, ‘ i’ve missed you — how long’re you back for? ’
