“…Thanks. Is everything okay?”

“I’ve  been in better moods. I’m Mike by the way.”

“You know what I mean,” Rina sighed before shrugging, “I don’t know where everyone’s gone, but I hope they’re back soon.”

“I know. My parents are getting really worried. But the thing is, if I disappeared like that, they’d think I was doing it to get a point across and use of aggression.” He let out a small sigh. “The police in this town suck too..”

“Why, I’m honoured. Although I’m afraid I can’t guarantee I wouldn’t be an awful dad as well. I’ve kind of never tried it before and you never know what you’ll actually do in a situation until you’re in it, right? Wait - Aria’s just vanished? Hmm… odd. Well, I care about a lot of things. The people I feel sympathy for are on my list of those things as well.”

“But you aren’t so it doesn’t matter. Yeah, that makes sense. But yeah, Aria’s been missing for a good couple of days and the police don’t seem to be doing anything so I was on my way to the station.  You feel sympathy for me? That makes me feel pathetic.

“Oh hi, sorry I didn’t see you there.”

“New guy? Welcome, I guess.”

Rina glares at him, annoyed at the way he is talking at her. However she softens her gaze before replying, “I know you’re just worried about Aria.”

“What does my sister have to do..” Mike paused before taking a moment to think. Maybe it was to do with the fact his sister had gone AWOL. 

“Maybe I will,I care about Aria a lot Mike.”

“Jeez, what’s gotten into you?”

“Nothing....Just stop, dude.”

“Yeah sure sorry,” Rina didn’t even realise she was in anyone’s way and swiftly stepped away. She glared at Mike, “no need to be so rude about it.”

Mike moves past her before turning back around. “Listen. I’m still not on the mood so if have something important to say, say it now. “

“Are you sure?It might be serious.”

“If you care so much, you can come with me to the police station.”
