"Lactose Intolerant"

"Woah, that’s cool, that’s cool." Milo lips curl and genuinely move upwards, the smile eventually taking over his eyes too, as he gets more animated. A link to home. Weird how he’d unintentionally gravitated towards it. The Thai aspect to Mike was interesting to him too… How could it not be? But eh, he didn’t fancy tempting fate, clumsily trekking over the Thai language, as much. "Do you speak Mandarin? I’m more fluent in it."

"I do," he reveals, easily switching to Mandarin Chinese as he gives Milo a smile. "I only use it occasionally, though, so correct me if I make any mistakes." With a glance towards the shopping basket, he gives a small hum, then shifts a bit to get his phone out of his pocket. "I actually have to go now, but if you ever need help with anything, or just want to meet up, you can contact me." He holds out his phone to the taller, showing the keypad displayed on the screen. "Need for business contacts, spontaneous lunch dates, forgotten vocabulary, it's always good to have a place to turn."

I— {/chews om her bottom lip while thinking for some moments} I— alright. {/smiles and nods}

/he smiles a bit and closes the menu, handing it back the the waitress who stands at place; Set 3 and green tea for two, thank you. /turning back, he leans against the backrest; Gayoon, was it? You said you're studying. May I ask what major?

"I’m Chinese. But yeah, I normally keep that on the down low." His eyes cloud over with seriousness for a second, before he shakes his head quickly, snapping back on to track. Zoning out is becoming an unwelcome habit. "I lived in er, NY for a while. And Cairo for a while too. I ended up doing my masters Boston, so um, yeahh. I’m a citizen of um, the world." 

Of course, the sudden mood change is picked up by the other like a change in scent, and he can't help but glance over at the other in mild curiosity, but doesn't inquire further on the subject. Instead, he flashes a smile and arches his eyebrows slightly. "Oh really? I happen to be half Chinese myself. Half Chinese, half Thai." He picks out a few other dairy products, knowing they'll be appreciated back at the apartment. "Sounds like a real adventure getting here, though."

"Yes, it really is." He nods happily, showing eagerness in his eyes as he scans the shelves, knowing the character he’s looking for because of the happy rejogging of his memory. "Thank you so very much." It’s fortunate he can read the characters, and it leads him to select a four pack of soya yogurt pots which has a happily little ‘suitable for those who are lactose intolerant, vegan and vegetarian.’ stamp on it. "When I didn’t know Korean as well, I used to walk around with a no-milk sign."

Ending up picking the mango yoghurt himself, Mike hums softly as he listens to the other, just to pause and turn his head at the last statement. "Seriously?" Another smile tugs at his lips as he picks up a carton of milk as well. "By now I can clearly assume you're not Korean. You speak with almost no accent though, it's hard to tell. Where do you come from?"

{/laughs quietly and covers her mouth, sitting in front of him} Uhm… just water is enough.

/tilts his head a slight bit as he looks up at her; Sure you don't want green tea?

Mhm, it’s really lovely in here. {/she nods while following at him, smiling at him when he turns around to check on her} Mistakes can sometimes lead to wonderful discoveries; like America for example. {/she chuckles}

Yeah, except with less enslavement and forced religion. /once they reach the top of the staircase, he walks over to one of the tables and takes a seat, accepting the menu from the waitress before she moves away to tend to other tables; Would you like anything to drink?
