Having drive is complicated Living in poverty Life is hard below sub standard conditions Happiness is equity We take out loans against ourselves Chipping away fragments of who we are So we can try being something we were never meant to be We live for a living But for how long? Dreaming is always healthy It counters the hopelessness of suicide I have 33 miles until my gas tank is empty There's no fancy wordplay to how I'm truly running on fumes

When the day is done And the air is clean I think what bothers me the most Is the questioning I can groom myself and reel it in Calm the nerves that the world brings in Turn off the noise And pause my feet Escape my fears for solid rest Find the truest joy in not being alone Conjure all the love that I have And give it all away, at once Wishing for understanding of my unstable thoughts Wishing that I could love you in every way that a man should Somewhere in there Desire is inevitable But I always want more Am I insane?
