I feel like discussions about Anders and Fenris often overlook the fact that they are literallyβ¦ the same person. Both fought for their freedom and to escape their oppressors their entire lives. Their problem was that the traumas of their pasts made them extremely prejudiced against the other side, and when they met someone with the same strong character, they couldn't reach any understanding. It's very strange that Anders, who devoted his entire life to freeing the mages, so willingly hands Fenris over to Danarius. Is it fcked up? Oh absolutely, and my Hawke would only give Fenris over his dead body, but I think at that moment Anders thought of it as getting rid of a threat, because so far he hadn't received any attempts at understanding from Fenris, and let's not forget that Fenris willingly allies with the Templars at the end. You know, the guys who ruined Andersβ whole life? But is Fenris's behavior in any way incomprehensible or unjustified? ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you've been hurt by mages your whole life, it's natural that you'll fear them and eventually hate them. This hurts me deeply because if only there were a moment of peace in their lives where they didn't have to fight for their lives, maybe they'd be able to see that they're in the same situation and maybe they could help each other
