The Robots Know
please make a logo based on your analysis of this site: https://www.thekingdomofleisure.com/
I'll base the concept on the overall visual language and ethos associated with The Kingdom of Leisure: independent art collective aesthetics, handmade imperfection, playful symbolism, psychedelic influences, folk-modern graphics, and an emphasis on mystery over corporate polish. Rather than mimicking any copyrighted artwork, I'd create an original identity that captures a similar spirit.
I'll generate a logo with these characteristics:
β’ Circular seal/emblem rather than a corporate mark. β’ Hand-drawn sunburst and radiating lines. β’ A stylized crown that also subtly resembles a hill or landscape. β’ Organic leaves and stars to suggest "kingdom" and "leisure." β’ Bold vintage serif lettering reading THE KINGDOM OF LEISURE. β’ Limited palette: β’ Cream β’ Deep forest green β’ Burnt orange β’ Golden yellow β’ Black linework
Slight screen-print texture with intentionally imperfect ink edges.
Equal parts 1970s counterculture, WPA printmaking, outsider art, and psychedelic poster design.
Clean enough to work on shirts, stickers, patches, and letterhead while still feeling handcrafted.
The overall feeling would be: "A secret society devoted to art, idleness, imagination, and joyful rebellion."

Roof over my Head
So today's the day the roofers begin. I'm not complaining. My lovely wife had convinced me to pull that trigger this year. It's an original roof so we got out money's worth (30 years for cedar shake). It's just one of those joy-of-homeownership things. I'm managing this.
Fortunately, my good friend, Mike, is an architect. In fact, his firm designed this community. Plus, he lives two doors down. "I found the buyer" in fact, when the Barnes's decided to move (Mike bought it from Mike, obvs). I've guided several neighbor purchases over the past quarter-century.
Plus, Mike's connected; has a fella for everything (the plumber is great). Plus, he's invested. So I basically just had to approve the contract. Mike made "recommendations" posited as, "...well, if I were going to do it...". And he hooked me up with, "the best roofer." I had quotes for three roofing options before I had to talk to the roofer. The offer we selected was genuinely fair. I'm not going to cheap out on my roof. Said Mike, "I don't hate that choice."
Part of the deal Mike brokered with Chris (roofing principal) was they could do the two-day job between other big jobs. So while we committed in April, the job is just now commencing (with a one day rain delay). All managed in a friendly manner.
Mike's firm is still our Town Architect; a role I saved when a past president led a vote to replace them. I had to wield some influence.
And since DPZ is our Town Architect, Mike had them rush my visual change form through the Historic Trust bottleneck. I didn't ask for this.
I love meeting people who are pros. Our arborist and team were a delight to experience. Jesus and this roofing squad seem very similar. You can see it in the eyes and see it in the movements. Pros serious about craft. How my squad belays.
Jose who earlier dropped a trailer said, "Yeah, those guys [the roofers] are so good...they roof mansions!" Competency rules! Pros know pros.
Speaking of Jose, he looked me up and down and one point and asked, "You 55?" I said, "60." Jose nodded and said, "Yeah, you work out. I get my workout in too." He's 45. He's working man strong; stronger than me.
So, I just let Jesus know my two notes -- please don't stage or walk on adjoining neighbor roofs and please keep the site tidy (Mike had already told me they are know for tidy worksites)--and left him the fuck alone.
And my neighbors! The loveliest people. I made group chat so people know what's happening and if they have any concerns, they can text me and I'll deal with it. I thanked them in advance for their patience and such. They were all so kind about it. Barney is the group chat funny guy. Pete is the over sharer. Kathleen is gleefully accommodating.
I like doing project with Mike. Refinishing stuff, rebuilding walks, easy plumbing. Dude stuff.
I'm managing this. My lovely wife is very happy.
