frank and ian are actually making me go crazy the fact that ian’s not his biological son yet he still has this family is family mentality and at no point did he try to distance himself from frank and still calls him his father and frank still calls him son and frank treating him differently from his siblings and never establishing a relationship of any kind and letting him live on the sidelines of his life unless he needs something from him or is pissed off and looking to take it out on him and fiona saying that ian looks the most like monica and frank knows it and he’s scared and ian’s a reminder of someone he loves and misses and has such a complicated relationship with and frank saying that actually being like monica is a good thing at her funeral because she was strong and brave and maybe for the first time in his life ian hears that being like her doesn’t have to be a bad thing and he hears it from somebody he was convinced hated him
