I'm officially closing this tumblr down. I won't delete it, just for the sake of having it available to anyone who might want to see that Keto works for "real" people. I jump on and off keto/low carb so often, because it works for me! But I don't want to document it anymore.

I went out and bought a mini waffle maker, for chaffles! It was a funny find, actually. My sister and I were at Walmart looking for flowers, and the waffle maker was shoved into an end cap! Just chillin! I don't personally like shopping at Walmart, so it never even crossed my mind to look in their housewares section for one. But there it was, placed exactly where it needed to be for me to find it.

I'm used to using a Belgian waffle maker for my chaffles. Please look below for the massive size difference between the two:

It made me giggle, not going to lie! Normally for my chaffles, I used two eggs and 28g of shredded cheese. So I THOUGHT that maybe I could just cut the portion in half for the middle one. Boy, I was wrong! Haha. The poor mini overflowed! So I tried again and again, with no success.

I finally reached out to @losingitinvirginia to see if she could kindly direct me to a better ratio of ingredients. (She makes them often, so i figured she'd be the pro to ask! Haha.)

I eventually got them looking somewhat decent:

Basically I got my bunless burger and a hot dog and began cutting it up with a knife and fork. Then my store manager's wife (who I've known for YEARS) comes up to me. She says "Guess what I found?!"

"Hey! What'd you find?"

"These!" And she pulls out a bag of salt and vinegar chips. "I was out shopping with [daughter] and saw them, and I remembered you LOVED them!"

She was so pleased!! My chain of grocery store that I work for stopped carrying them like SIX YEARS ago, and she remembered! 😭

So naturally I gave her a huge hug and thanked her profusely for thinking of me. I was truly, truly touched that she remembered something so silly about me.

So I ate them.

And they were JUST the way I remembered.

I ate the whole bag!! The WHOLE time I was like "I should stop. I've tasted heaven, yes, but think about the weight loss! Think about your progress!" Then I kept popping them in my mouth.

Dang it.

Back on the keto train tomorrow! Haha. I will say, I never thought I'd have ever eaten those again. It was a "totally worth it" cheat. Glad they're not readily available to me, or else I'm not sure how strong I'd be 😅

Finally got in touch with Amazon about replacing or refunding my order. If you guys recall, I was expecting it to get delivered LAST Sunday. It apparently got "lost", but is "in my town". They said they'd ship me a new package with upgraded shipping, so we'll see!

I broke my riding streak yesterday. (Boooo.) I kinda hurt my ankle at work, and didn't want to make it worse by stressing it out for an hour. It's feeling better today though, so that's good.

I blame this one pound gain on my ankle. Yeah, that's it.... 👀 haha.

It's awesome seeing a big loss after a long workout! Makes me....want....to exercise. (Gag)

I had to cut my workout short last night. My husband unexpectedly came home with one of his brothers, so I didn't want to be ~rude~ and stay in my room. So I only got 30 minutes in. I'm working early today, so I'm planning on riding when I get home.

I've been using HabitBull per @zerocarb 's recommendation, and I enjoy it! It's a nice way to look at my bike riding habit that I've been working on!

I have it set up to be "successful" when I ride five days a week :)

Yesterday was the last day of my egg fast! (Though, don't tell anyone, but I ALSO had a sugar free jello cup! 🤫😉)

I lost 4.4 pounds during those three days. Heck yeah!

The grocery store I work at just started carrying this keto friendly smoothie mix:

My package never came. Womp womp.

I ended up riding my bike for an hour, sporadically pedaling really fast, then not so fast. For me, fast is anything more than 14mph, and leisurely is usually around 10mph. It's silly, but that little increase in speed really gets your heart pumping!

I also get really sweaty when I go that hard, as indicated by my messy hair and my red tshirt thrown to the floor lmao 👇👇

Another day, another workout! :)

My package still hasn't come yet, and I'm sad because I won't be home tomorrow to receive it! AND the package doesn't hide what's in it, so it'd literally be on my porch advertising itself 😫 I'm hoping hoping hoping that the usps will pull a cool one and deliver my package on a Sunday. (It won't, I'm sure.) Which really just means I might have to *gulp* talk to one of my neighbors about possibly taking it into their house while Chris and I are working.

Day one of the egg fast! I figured I'd mark my little calendar with an egg to mark the occasion. lol. For breakfast I went to Dunkin with Chris and got the egg and cheese sandwich, hold the sandwich. For lunch, I had planned on making egg salad, but then I took a nap, so I technically didn't eat lunch. (#naplife) Dinner was scrambled eggs, with some cheese sticks.

If you're not super familiar with egg fasts, it's a restrictive diet that you're ONLY supposed to do between 3 and 5 days. You basically eat eggs and a source of fat for every single meal (Coconut oil, mayonnaise, etc). You're also allowed to eat one ounce of cheese per meal. That's why you shouldn't do it for very long...you need way more nutrients and greens! I usually am SO DONE with eggs by the third day lol. There's only so many ways to make them before you get tired of them! Haha.

Like I said in my last post, I've done egg fasts before, with great results. I primarily do them when I'm either at a weight loss plateau, and need a little help OR when I want to get back into ketosis somewhat quickly.

Today I rode my bike twice. Once in the morning, and once in the evening. My watch was being a little weird again. For my morning workout, I was leisurely riding. For my evening workout, I was pedaling LIKE HELL, it was awful lmao. But my watch didn't account for the hellacious increase in my heart rate, and said I technically burned LESS calories. Which, 🙄.

My bike knew what was up though, so I feel a little more justified. Haha.

As always, I always keep this tumblr as honest as possible. I don't like when a blog, instagram, or whatever else only posts positives. I feel like it makes others feel like THEY might be doing something wrong, especially when it comes to diets or weight loss.

This week I've decidedly screwed myself, essentially by choice. I've been snacking ALL WEEK on low carb granola. I bought two big bags sometime last week, and had portioned them about. 60g worth of granola were 5 or 6g of carbs, depending on the flavor.

Most every day I'd go over my daily limit of 20g, usually by 20 or 30 grams. I just kept snacking! It was mindless! It wasn't really until yesterday that I looked back on my carb manager and REALLY looked at it.

I feel a little ashamed, because I'm not normally a snacker when I'm going keto. I guess I realize now it's because I never ALLOWED snacks into the house. It was always so easy for me to NOT snack, because there WERE no snacks.

I decided to start fresh over tomorrow. I'll be doing an egg fast for three days, to ~reset~. Egg fasts always work for me, both with weight loss as well as getting back into ketosis.

I just wanted to let yall know, I'm human too! And I make mistakes! And that's okay!

No more granola!! Lmao. (But if you'd like to try it out, the brand is called Sola, and their granola is DELISH. Maybe....too delish 👀)

Or is there any part to your weight loss that you're unhappy with? I've never been able to stick with a diet long term, and I wasn't sure if something can change your mindset over time. I know you've been on and off keto for a few years now, so i wasn't sure."

Thanks for the ask! I have to say, this time around I'm not bothered by fluctuations. I think because I'm exercising more now, the fluctuations aren't as often, or they're very small. I'm trying to have a healthier mindset about the scale, so I'm glad you can sense the positivity. When I don't exercise as long (therefore burning less calories), if the next day I have an increase or no loss, I justify it saying that it's because I didn't put enough effort in. I try not to stress about it, because otherwise I would overanalyze what I ate or my macros or something, and that (for me) becomes a very obsessive aspect. I've been that way before, and I hate it. It creeps into my mind, and would be ALL I could think about. I didn't like that.

That's why now I try to do what I "know" is the "right thing", such as exercising five times a week and drinking more water. Everyone "knows" this is how traditionally people live more active/healthier lives, it just takes some willpower to do it.

And I suppose as far as something I'm unhappy with, it's hard to say! It's still very early in my weight loss this time around, so I haven't really had the time to be disappointed! If you meant it more like, "is there a place on my body that I wish would hurry up and shrink", then I suppose my thighs would be that place. I can see my belly and arms shrinking, and my collarbones are coming back. So I suppose my thighs are the slow-losers...but again, I'm hardly a month in, and things take time! I suppose in two more months, I'd be able to more accurately tell you.

I didn't log on yesterday, but I did end up dropping that one pound weight increase. Today I had no movement, which I was expecting. I was snacky yesterday, so I was munching on more food here and there than I normally do. Haha

I rode my bike for an hour today. I didn't take a picture of my bike's caloric burn, because I forgot to clear out yesterday's totals before I started. So I ended up just taking a picture of the distance.

Chris wanted to go to Dunkin for breakfast today. I went ahead and got my new "go to", which is the egg and cheese english muffin, no muffin. I also got an unsweet tea, which hurt my southern soul (lmao). I just can't do the splenda [shudders].

After Dunkin, he even helped me with the yard! It had rained really hard last night, so I was lamenting that I wouldn't be able to do the side yard, because it's a different style of grass (which is ridiculous, lol), and I can't physically push the mower hard enough to make it up the "hill" when it's wet. So husband of the year volunteered to help! Heck yeah babe, I'll always the take the help regarding that devil yard! It's silly because the side yard is maybe six feet wide and 60 feet long, but the slight incline makes it feel like I'm hauling for miles and miles. Lmao.

I'm the primary yard care spouse, which is preferred. The WHOLE time he was helping, I was dying inside because it's not how ~I~ do it. But beggars cannot be choosers, so I let it slide 😅

It finally happened! I had my first gain of the month! Haha. I'm not worried about it though. Like I've said before, fluctuations are totally normal! :)

I rode my bike for two hours today. My watch said I burned 1090 calories, and my bike said 1064 calories

No movement yet, so I'll go ahead and calculate. This week I lost 3.6 pounds! Yay! I'm curious so see how the entire month will turn out. Will I gain, and cancel out at some point? (Likely)

I rode my bike a little later tonight than I wanted. I got out of work later than expected, so I made myself make it happen. (Willpower, babeyyy!) Tomorrow I don't go in until 4pm, so I'll likely be able to do some yardwork AND ride my bike, all before work! We'll see though. It's been raining at really weird times this week, so if the grass is too wet, I'll have to wait!
