it came out of left field, if it had stayed on Langdon’s addiction it might have fit with their other interactions this season but it didn’t, and wtf does pre-determined roles have anything to do with their relationship if they’ve barely talked like I’m pretty sure they weren’t even on a case together after Louie and Whitaker wasn’t even there for half of it

if it’s about their roles in the hospital it makes no sense because they do have roles in a hierarchy, Langdon is a senior resident and Whitaker is an intern and he’s also overstepping those bounds trying to teach and mentor med students as if he’s a senior resident

if anything, if you wanted to keep the roles bit AND have Langdon be calm and supportive of completely unearned and practically unprompted aggression, it would have made more sense for Langdon to be like it’s good you’re setting boundaries and standing up for yourself but I’m still a senior resident and you should not be snapping at any of your coworkers like this

but that’s not what happened and maybe you could convince me Whitaker had it in him to snap at Langdon which honestly I kind of doubt as he’s never shown a temper before this and if he has a big brother issue, Langdon is probably the last guy he’d try to assert himself against
