Meant to be???

Nothing is meant to be

Life is a beautiful random accident

A chaotic tapestry of conflicting colors

A calliope of miss matched instruments

It’s three AM and sleep is a rapidly retreating shadow

I've seen the chains so often they've become invisible

In these silent hours there is nowhere to hide

Private, strangled, breaths search dark corners

While trying to rein in runaway thoughts

All my answers have become questions

Is it where or is it when did I lose my way

Inky mists leave me wondering

What would have happened

With a distant fondness

I remember

A time when a

Wink and smile

Could charm the

Clothes off a lover

That was back when

Sadly somewhere

along this journey
