Hello there!

Just a fellow Unreal Tournament fan that wants to forget the horrible mistreatment of the franchise from Epic and instead focus on the things I loved about the game.

This Tumblr is gonna be a very inexperienced and personal project where I find and play some Monster Hunt maps, take some screenshots and document which ones I could beat, enjoyed and would recommend. Be it for interesting UMX's/Textures and layout or the appeal of senseless mayhem.

((The aim is ideally to make sure there are some info floating around atleast of several maps worth playing - most sites hosting said maps in general are lacking pictures and such))

I'll attatch a bunch of links in this post of the mods I used, map locations and such to the best of my ability. Tutorials for setting it up should be included with the aforementioned files :)

**Be aware that several maps come in Map Packs and I cannot tell which ones have and have not come from a pack. It's been a while since I grabbed this stuff and sorted it out/installed it. You'll have to do a bit of footwork on your behalf to find the specific ones.**

This time showcasing a map called MH-Templar, player suggestion is 2-8 but it is soloable given a bit more time and patience with the ammo regen of the UTJMH mutator.

Music and Monster Layout/Weapon spawns are placed well, the Skybox and Textures/Lighting match the theme of the map. Which is a blessing when some of the maps I find are just the UrealED Untextured Placeholders all over..

Overall it was great to find a new map I hadn't yet played and not run into unfortunate issues like broken triggers or geometry that just kills you because you temporarily phase into the void. Give it a shot should you have it lying about and want to play a small level.

This map is a nostalgic brain blast for me.

Full of lovely nods to moments from The Last Crusade, your movie knowledge may be required to get through the objectives that lie ahead.

There's a nice little Easter Egg to find aswell that repeats a few lines from the song 'Funky Town' by Lipps Inc.

In the end I had to include this map, the HD Textures i'm using don't do this level justice as the old and new bits tend to clash. Having said that, It still looks fantastic. ((Nostalgia Bias in full effect))

To kick things off, i'll start with a custom map I started on a whim as it sat fairly in the middle of my collection - HellfireV3

Firstly i'd recommend putting a bit of time aside if you plan on playing this map solo. It's a rather long map with spacious rooms that connect you from A > B. The Objectives aren't too hard to figure out; rub your face against any holographic panel until a text pop up telling you to progress.

There's a nice bit of custom music playing throughout, varying from atmospheric to a guitar-heavy song for the boss fights. There are even a couple of weapons not from the basic UT99 Roster to find and use should you wish :)

It's soloable and a good map, any negatives I have are down simply to me playing a map made for a minimum of 6 players :)

Give it a try if you have it lying around or care to kill some time, even better if you can find a way to play local or through some online way ((I am far removed from any knowledge about continued online servers still running after Epic shut things down.))
