I'm Crystal_Snow09, but you can call me Crystal or Snow. I've been lingering in Tumblr for some time now and I decided to use this account to post daily updates about my current project: Indirect Interference

I would also post here random thoughts and musings. Mostly about Senjurou, but I would also post about the Rengoku fam as well. You could send me HCs as well. Do bear with me because I'm still new to this.

You can ask me anything about my fic, I'll try to answer them, but I'm setting ground rules.

What if Senjuro and Kyojuro had a big fight that led to Senjuro breaking up their bond as brothers? He won’t acknowledge Kyojuro as his older brother, won’t talk to him, and constantly tries to avoid him. How would this make Kyojuro feel, and would he try to fix it or quit?

Personally, wew.... Despite it being a big fight, I doubt it would last. It's just in their personality. I think Senjurou is the type who would feel guilty for treating Kyojurou that way (in the long run) and Kyojurou would do ANYTHING to get Senjurou back because Senjurou is the only family he has left (remember, Shinjuro is a dick.) If these two indeed had a big fight, they'll most likely give each other space. They won't speak for awhile, maybe for weeks, but it definitely won't lead to the point where Senjurou won't acknowledge Kyojurou as his brother.

But again, this is a what-if, so let's play around with that idea🥴🥴

Kyojurou is the type who won't snap so suddenly, but he does have the tendency to become insensitive. So one way this could happen is when Kyojurou unintentionally becomes a dick. Like maybe Kyojurou might have said or did something that unknowingly affected Senjurou, to the point that it changed Senjurou's entire perspective of his brother overnight. One example could be Kyojurou's loyalty with rules. He doesn't do exemptions unless Oyakata-sama intervenes. Maybe there was a senario where Kyojurou had to pick a side (one that involves Senjurou) and he ultimately chooses the later.

The worse part about this is Kyojurou doesn't understand why this is happening. He doesn't know where he went wrong. The change of attitude was so sudden, he doesn't even have time to process it. Senjurou suddenly not acknowledging his entire existence is a big blow because that's a Shinjuro move. It's a... "No... Not you too" moment.

If this happen, of course Kyojurou would want to fix this. He will be desperate. To the point, a third part would be involved. Could be Mitsuri, Obanai, could be both of them or could be Sanemi (or Shinobu)) if you want to spice things up. Heck, it could be Oyakata-sama himself because it gotten so bad, it heavily affected Kyojurou's work as a pillar.

Senjurou does all the avoiding but he does makes sure Kyojurou is still taken care off. Like he still leaves food and still does house chores and laundry but he definitely avoids him if he's there. Kyojurou is loud, so he knows where to hide.

This is a very difficult situation, something I think even Shinjuro would notice. I think this will prologe for a month or two before someone decides to finally intervene.

He doesn't understand why his own ghost companion aka his very own ancestor who created Flame breathing, choked at the site. As if him following Senjurou instead of Aniue was confusing enough (I mean, why???) Seeing a normally composed ma—uh ghost breakdown was.....baffling.

Senjurou is confused.

Am I missing something... ?

I know no one is talking about this, but I imagine Rengoku's ancestor and Yoriichi getting along so well.

I re-read the manga and noticed that it was Rengoku who found Yoriichi holding Uta's body.

He was also there when they burried Uta. He could have left Yoriichi but nooo, he stayed.

I also noticed Rengoku holding back one of the hashiras when they were shouting at Yoriichi to commit seppuku. He did that instead of joining them 😭

Man, these details are subtle but it says a lot. I wonder if this is one of the reasons why the Rengokus are so loyal to the corps. I wonder if their reasoning could also link to Yoriichi. Yes, Yoriichi's existence was forgotten, but before that, I could imagine the initial generations knowing him. It was only forgotten since well...the story changes as it pass down.

I imagine Rengoku's ancestor being so upset with Yoriichi's banishment. He respects Yoriichi since he created the breaths. He's the one who made the corps strong.

And they were friends... Really good friends.

Like these two would be often seen together. Whether it be missions, day offs, drinking. I imagine their friendship being so wholesome.

Which makes it more painful.

I have a Headcanon that Ubuyashiki and Rengoku were the only ones who vouched for Yoriichi. That's why he didn't have to slit his stomach. But man, poor guy. He didn't deserve this much.

10) Senjurou sent one last letter to Kyojurou before leaving.

= He told him he'll be joining the final selection. He also apologized for not telling him any sooner. When Kyojurou recieved the letter, he immediately ran home. Sadly, he was too late, Senjurou had already left. He could only pray that his brother would return safely.

11) While traveling to Fujikasane mountain, Senjurou bumped into a certain someone.

= Muichiro was on his way back when he met Rengoku (Smaller Rengoku???) Senjurou instantly recognized him but Muichiro didn't (much to Senjurou's confusion, I mean... Didn't they just met?) Sensing Senjurou's confusion, Muichiro tried to make up for it by handing over his extra bread. He also wished him good luck.

12) In the end, Senjurou passed with flying colors.

= he was injured yes, but not that much compared to Tanjirou. Senjurou mostly hid, only fighting when demons are annoyingly persistent. The only reason he got injured was because he saved a swordsman. He's the youngest who survived.

13) Senjurou's Kasugai Crow is an owl

= He's confused. Did they ran out of crows...?? Well... .if blondie over there got a sparrow then maybe this was normal?? He named her "Anko" which means "Red bean paste" because she reminded him of that and he's hungry.

14) Kyojurou cried at Senjurou's return.

= Could you blame him??? Poor man was worried to death. He's not the only one. Mitsuri and Obanai were all waiting for him. Mitsuri was bawling in happiness and relief while Obanai gave him a firm pat. Somewhere in the household, Shinjuro was crying silent tears. The sake jar remained untouched. Thank God....

15) Senjurou's blade is orange.

= It's to mimic the orange fur of a fox. But it could also link back to Senjurou's heritage. It's not red, but it still bears the color of flames. Senjurou obviously cried.

16) Senjurou's uniform is a little..... different.

= Instead of Hakama pants, Senjurou wore a pair of knee length shorts. Again, he's confused. Did they make a mistake??? Mitsuri finds it adorable though. Kyojurou doesn't mind. He gifted him with the same flame patterned Kyahan. Senjurou finished his look with a red capelet made by his brother and master.

17) Kyojurou wanted to join him on his first mission.

= Despite witnessing the prowess of Fox breathing on spars, Kyojurou insisted he needs to see more of it in action. Really, it's just as excuse to watch over his brother. He's too protective. Naturally, Senjurou refused.

18) Finally.....he joins the Kamaboko Squad.

To end my "what ifs" series, here are some of my takes on Slayer! Senjurou. I dedicate this post to anon (my very first anon :333) Thank you for dropping by! I hope this is to your liking.

Before we start, I just want to emphasize that this is just my personal take. I sprinkled some of my old headcanons. If you want to use this, feel free to do so. Just don't forget to credit :3

1) He never gave up.

= When Senjurou's blade refused to change color, he didn't flatter. Rather, he became more determined. Sure, father's words were painful, but what else could he do? Senjurou persisted, even if the results remained unchanged.

2) Flame breathing is not just for him.

= Flame breathing is all about power. It's flashy, it requires strength, it's something Senjurou lacks. If he wants to use his full potential, then he needs to start focusing on his own strengths. Luckily, someone was there to knock some senses into him, quite literally.

3) Muichiro was his turning point.

= It was Muichiro who gave him the idea. He found Senjurou practicing one day and told him he's not fit for it. Why was he there? Who knows? Either way, he was the one who told Senjurou to create his own breath. "You're fast mini Rengoku, very stealthy too. Maybe you should focus there."

4) Mitsuri helped.

= As someone who derived something from flame breathing, of course it's logical for Senjurou to turn to Mitsuri, who in fact, was very pleased. She tries her best to accommodate him. Obanai would join them from time to time, dropping hints and advices.

5) Hence, Breath of the Fox was born.

= Fox because it's all about speed, stealth and unpredictability. The moves are cunning, perfect for sneak attacks. Senjurou is fast. He's smart too. He specialize on throwing people off guard. The more he becomes unpredictable, the better.

6) Fox Breathing was derived from Love Breathing.

=....and love breathing was derived from flame. It makes sense. Mitsuri was present all through out its development. Some of Fox breathing's forms requires flexibility. With this in mind, Senjurou is no doubt Mitsuri's Tsuguko.

7) Kyojurou has no idea what's going on.

= It wasn't intentional. The timing was just wrong. When Senjurou began developing his breath, Kyojurou was bombarded with missions. Senjurou doesn't write about it, wanting to keep it as a surprise.

8)....but Shinjuro does.

= he's not blind. The change was obvious. It's not like Senjurou bothered hiding it. Moreover, the love and snake pillar visits too often. Despite this, he doesn't feel any resent. In fact, he's actually proud. He won't show it of course.

9) Senjuro joins the final selection.
