Things that have happened at this conference:

During a plenary session, with the whole room in attendance listening to the speaker, this man started playing videos on his phone. It was low but still totally audible. The woman next to me asked him to turn it down and he goes, "is it really loud?"

A woman in front of me snapped instead of applauded when the speaker said something she agreed with.

I went to the hotel gift shop and bought a bag of gummy bears and a bottle of water and it cost $16 damn dollars.

I'm on the 29th floor of this DTLA hotel and the views are stunning. I took a cab from LAX and the cabby went, "you here for the library conference?" Because he had already dropped someone off at my hotel for the same thing. He also drove like a maniac and when we got to the hotel, marveled that it had only taken 25 minutes, no traffic. Yeah dude, but you were going 85.
