Sento necessario

We live in an age where we feel guilt whenever we have to cut someone off but the reality is that some relationships do need to die, some people do need to be unfollowed and defriended. We aren’t meant to be this tethered to the people in our past. The Internet mandates that we don’t burn bridges and keep everyone around like relics but those expectations are unrealistic and unhealthy. Simply put, we don’t need to know what everyone else is up to. We’re allowed to be choosy about who we surround ourselves with online and in real life, even if it might hurt people’s feelings.

Sometimes you need to embrace the situation you’re in. But I’ve also learned that sometimes embracing gets you no where. Sometimes you’ve got to say, ‘to hell with it’ and move on. Not because you couldn’t take it, but because you deserve better.

At some point, being angry is just another bad habit, like smoking, and you keep poisoning yourself without thinking about it.

Ogni tanto c'è bisogno di una piccola fuga, perché i confini che delimitano la nostra esperienza diventano talvolta insopportabili. Ogni tanto c'è bisogno di provarci, anche quando sembra impossibile. È il coraggio che fa la differenza!

Il vero amore non conosce affatto l’ego. Il vero amore inizia con l’amore per se stessi. È naturale, hai questo corpo, questo essere, hai radici in esso; godine, abbelliscilo, celebralo! E non si tratta di orgoglio o di ego, perché non ti stai paragonando a qualcuno. L’ego sorge solo con il confronto. L’amore per se stessi non conosce confronto; tu sei tu, tutto qui! Non sostieni che qualcuno ti è inferiore; non fai affatto confronti. Ogni volta che subentra il confronto, sappi che non è amore: in un modo o nell’altro è un trucco, un sottile inganno dell’ego. L’ego vive di confronti.
